SPENCER, Iowa – A full season of IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing begins at the Clay County Fair Speedway this Friday, May 8.
Divisions featured this season are IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Mach-1 Sport Compacts.
Hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m. with races at 7 p.m.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to fully utilize the Speedway,” said CCF Manager Jeremy Parsons. “Going from five races in 2014 to 14 races this year will be a great benefit to not only the speedway, but also to all of Spencer. It is nice to be able to offer racing right here in Northwest Iowa for the entire family to enjoy each week.”
IMCA races will be held each Friday night May 8 through June 26; July 10; July 17; July 31; August 21; and the finale race at the Fair on Wednesday, September 16.
New to the Clay County Fair Speedway this season will be the Finish Line Food Court. Each Friday night, a variety of food and merchandise vendors will be set up outside the grandstand giving race fans and Spencer residents “A festival atmosphere to enjoy,” said Parsons.
The Clay County Fair Speedway box office will open at 5 p.m. on race days. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Season passes for the 2015 IMCA racing season will be available at the box office through the first race of the season for $119.
The 2015 IMCA racing season will come to a close at the Clay County Fair Speedway Championships sponsored by Q102 FM on Wednesday, September 16 during the Fair.
The reconstructed 3/8 mile clay track on the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer known as the Clay County Fair Speedway made its debut in 2007. The track offers increased corner banking to adjust for the higher speeds of auto racing and a state-of-the-art lighting system to make the races more visible for both drivers and fans.
