Seven California Tracks Join Forces for New RaceSaver Tour in 2027

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 13, 2026) — RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car racing in California will take a big step forward in 2027 with the formation of a new seven-track tour bringing together some of the state’s best-known dirt tracks.

The California IMCA RaceSaver Tour will feature a 14-race schedule spread across some of the best California facilities and most successfully promoted venues: Bakersfield Speedway at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, Kings Speedway in Hanford, Merced Speedway, Perris Auto Speedway, Santa Maria Speedway, Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, and Watsonville Speedway.

“Anytime you can get seven tracks in a region to come together and work with each other, it’s going to be a huge success,” said IMCA Vice President Jim Stannard. “This has been something that we have wanted to see in California for a long time.”

In addition to the 14 tour events, the participating tracks will host additional RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car competition throughout the 2027 season. Between tour stops and other sanctioned events, drivers will have the opportunity to compete in as many as 25 races at the seven facilities that count toward Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National and California State points.

The cooperative effort will give competitors a unified touring schedule while providing professionally run events at each participating track. Drivers will also have the opportunity to pursue Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National and California State championships throughout the season.

The complete 14-race schedule, along with additional information regarding the new tour, will be announced at a later date.

IMCA Modifieds head Jan. 13, 14 Winter Heat cards at Perris Auto Speedway

Laney, Foulger, Bannister collect California Clash checkers at Merced

By Ben Deatherage MERCED, Calif. (May 6, 2022) – Night five of the IMCA Central California Clash saw Cody Laney put another $1,000 in his racing account. The Torrance standout won his third Friesen Performance IMCA Modified start of the week when the Clash shifted locations to Merced Speedway Friday evening. Ryan Porter paced the competition on the initial start and held down the front position being overtaken on lap five by Laney. A series of six stoppages slowed things down, but Laney, already Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible, kept his mount ahead of all challengers, equaling Ethan Dotson’s 2021 feat for the most wins in a single season with the series. Bobby Hogge was second over Kyle Heckman, Cody Burke and Troy Foulger. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars had a thriller of a main event. Egleston Tribute at Merced postponed to April 14

MERCED, Calif. – Inclement weather gets the blame for postponement of the Bill Egleston Tribute originally schedule for this Saturday at Merced Speedway. IMCA Modifieds now race for $3,000 to win and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods for $1,800 to win at the rescheduled event Saturday, April 14. Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. Racing follows 4:45 p.m. hot laps. Car and driver is $50. Pit passes are $40. Spectator admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 62 and over, military personnel and students with ID, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for five and under. The Egleston Tribute is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. Modifieds and Northern SportMods chase IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, California State and track points; Modifieds also contend for Larry Shaw Race Cars Western Region points.
