VINTON, Iowa (July 12, 2026) — Dalton Weepie topped the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks in the closest finish of the night Sunday at Benton County Speedway.
Jake Kaiser and Tucker Richardson battled for the lead early before Weepie worked his way into second. Leah Wroten moved into third as Richardson and Weepie began challenging one another for the top spot.
A late-race caution put Richardson and Wroten right on Weepie’s bumper. On the restart, Richardson stayed glued to Weepie while Wroten, Joren Fisher, and Kaiser battled for third.
Weepie held off Richardson by just 0.008 seconds at the stripe to earn his fifth B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season and second at Benton County Speedway.
Richardson finished second, Fisher raced from seventh to third, Wroten charged from 10th to fourth, and Jaice Tuttle stormed from 18th to complete the top five.
Cordes Survives Late Restart for Modified Victory
Troy Cordes found himself in victory lane in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature.
Jesse Belez and Cordes quickly found themselves battling for the lead before Cordes took command. Jeff Aikey worked his way through the field while Jerry Dedrick settled into fourth. A late-race caution bunched the field, but Cordes held off Aikey over the closing laps.
The Dunkerton driver earned his second Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season, with the wins coming at two different tracks. Aikey charged from 10th to second, Dedrick finished third, Belez was fourth, and Andrew Hamburg rounded out the top five.
Tharp Pulls Away in Stock Cars
Brandon Tharp dominated the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature.
From the start, Tharp quickly distanced himself from the field while Dave McCalla, Hunter Smith and Tony Olson battled behind him. Smith moved into second by the halfway point before McCalla reclaimed the position late as Cole Suckow charged into contention.
The Vinton driver earned his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season. McCalla finished second, Suckow advanced from 10th to third, John Oliver Jr. crossed the line fourth, and Olson completed the top five.
Chapman Charges to SportMod Victory
Ben Chapman battled his way to the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod victory.
Tony Olson and Gage Hilgenberg raced for the lead before Olson used the low groove to take command. Kyle Olson and Chapman quickly worked into the top four before Chapman moved into second and eventually took over the lead while Olson negotiated lapped traffic.
The Clarence driver earned his first victory of the season. Tony Olson finished second, Kyle Olson advanced from eighth to third, Brett Thomas climbed from ninth to fourth, and Will Wolf charged from 16th to finish fifth.
Gates Cruises to Sport Compact Win
Adam Gates claimed top honors in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts.
Gates took off at the drop of the green and never looked back. Aaron Kirkpatrick moved into second while Lukas Rick and Mike Peyton battled for third. By halfway, Gates had extended his advantage as Cristian Grady and Robert Rundle worked into the top five.
Gates scored his fourth win of the season, with half of those victories coming at Benton County Speedway. Grady raced from 10th to second, Rick charged from 15th to third, Rundle finished fourth, and Peyton completed the top five.
