ABILENE, Texas (Feb. 20, 2026) — Cameron Starry continued his torrid early-season pace by winning the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature on the opening night of the 32nd Annual Ice Breaker at Abilene Speedway. The 20-lap, $1,000-to-win main event saw the Corpus Christi driver secure his seventh victory of 2026, all in the EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region. The 2026 IMCA TV Winter Nationals champion and 2024 Dakota Classic Tour titleholder also earned a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifier, further adding to his existing eligibility for the event, which will be held at the 2026 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Starry started third and quickly surged to the lead once the race got underway, building separation before an early caution reset the field. Blake Clark, a two-time EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region champion, held firm in second while 2020 Grayson County Speedway IMCA Modified title winner Beau Collins applied steady pressure. Their duel allowed Starry to check out once again. Late cautions tightened the field, but Starry executed flawless restarts each time.
Clark finished second, while Matt Guillaume — a three-time Southern Region champion who started ninth — edged 2024 Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod National champion Chad Hertel for third. Collins was fifth, and 13-time National champion Mike Nichols advanced from 16th to sixth to earn hard charger honors.
41 IMCA Stock Cars were on tap for the night.
Webb Dominates Modifieds
John Webb captured the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature in dominating fashion. The 20-lap, $1,000-to-win main event doubled as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier and placed the defending Ice Breaker champion from Ardmore, Oklahoma, on the eligibility list for the 2026 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The victory marked Webb’s first win of the season in the GRT Race Cars South Central Region.
Webb grabbed the lead at the drop of the green, but Steven Whiteaker Jr. ripped the high side and powered off turn four to lead lap one. Webb countered along the bottom and edged back in front at the stripe on lap three before beginning to stretch his advantage. Rob Moseley of New Mexico entered the fray to briefly make it a three-car contest at the front, while Whiteaker stayed committed to the cushion and momentarily reclaimed the top spot on lap seven before a caution negated the pass.
From there, Webb proved untouchable. Whiteaker and Moseley battled intensely for second, allowing Webb to build breathing room on each restart. A late caution on lap 16 erased another comfortable lead, and Whiteaker’s bid ended shortly after with mechanical trouble. Webb capitalized on a flawless restart and controlled the final laps to secure the win.
Moseley finished second, three-time Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod National champion Dean Abbey rallied from 11th to third, three-time Abilene Speedway Modified champion Charles Brewer placed fourth, and 2002 National Rookie of the Year G.W. Egbert IV charged from 19th to fifth to earn hard charger honors.
Robinson Rallies from 10th to Win SportMod Main
Dustin Robinson of Post powered from 10th to victory in the Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMod feature, claiming his first win of the season in the 20-lap contest.
Defending Ice Breaker winner David Sanford led early before Cutter Spalding, the 2023 National Rookie of the Year, charged from seventh into contention. Multiple cautions kept the field tight, and Robinson stormed the top on a lap-eight restart to seize control. Robinson began to check out until lapped traffic brought Spalding back into the picture. A late caution with three laps remaining set up a crucial restart, but Robinson was perfect when it mattered most.
Spalding finished second, Sanford held off Gavin Faulks for third, six-time track champion and multi-time Ice Breaker winner Bradley Poor rallied from 14th to fifth, and two-time New Mexico State champion Tyler Cook advanced from 20th to ninth to earn hard charger honors.
Haralson Dominates Sport Compact Feature
Keagan Haralson wasted little time asserting himself in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature. The three-time Abilene Speedway champion and defending Ice Breaker winner bolted to the lead and controlled the 14-lap main event to earn his first victory of the season.
A caution on lap two briefly slowed the pace, but once green-flag racing resumed, Haralson steadily distanced himself from Clifton Campbell. Campbell settled for second, while Shawn Miles emerged victorious in a thrilling three-car battle for third over Bryson Broyles and 2024 Texas State champion Kelly Van Driel.
The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $24.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
