SR Promotions to Host Six Races at West Liberty in ’26; Add Stock Cars to Davenport

VINTON, Iowa (Jan. 13, 2026) — SR Promotions will bring Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing back to West Liberty Raceway in 2026 with six race dates, while also expanding the weekly lineup at Davenport Speedway with the addition of Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars.

West Liberty will host IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods on a roughly once-a-month schedule. All events will be sanctioned and will pay Iowa State and National points, along with Razor Chassis North Central Region points for Modifieds and EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points for Stock Cars.

Race dates at West Liberty Raceway are scheduled for Saturday, April 11; Wednesday, June 16; Wednesday, July 15; Saturday, September 5; and a two-day finale on Friday and Saturday, October 23-24.

“Usually it’s just a fair race that we have sanctioned, but this year we’re able to do quite a bit more,” said promoter Jeff Struck, who enters his third year promoting at Davenport. “The West Liberty fair race on July 15 will have extra money up for grabs for the Modifieds. The community has been wanting to see more racing out there, and even though it’s been sitting quiet for a few years, this gives us a chance to bring it back in full force.”

In addition to the West Liberty schedule, SR Promotions has added Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars to the weekly program at Davenport Speedway for the first time in the historic facility’s long-running history. The division will compete alongside IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Late Models, and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Davenport Speedway’s regular season runs from April 10 through August 24, with most racing held on Friday nights, and the Stock Car division will crown its first-ever IMCA track champion in 2026.

“We’re excited for the Stock Cars to be at Davenport just cause it’s a change and brings something new to the program,” Struck said.

Hurst, Braaksma shine at Davenport Dirt Stars show

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Sept. 28, 2024) – He’s been wrenching a lot more than he’s been racing again this season but Jeremiah Hurst still knows how to find the fastest way around the oval. The Dubuque star led all 30 laps of the Dirt Stars main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models Saturday night at Davenport Speedway, earning $3,000 for his first sanctioned win since 2019, the season after he reigned as national champion in the class. “My brother Ian started racing four years ago and I’ve been helping him,” explained Hurst, who ran a Modified in the Clash on the Coast and had just a handful of starts before running fifth in the Friday show at Davenport. “The car was very, very good and I knew if I could get to the lead and get into lapped traffic, I’d be all right.” Hurst took the initial green from inside row two and was quickly in front, staying on the inside line, catching up with the back of the pack by lap 18 and working through traffic. IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods Brawl this weekend at Davenport

DAVENPORT, Iowa (March 22, 2022) – IMCA Modifieds race for a cool $1,000 to win on night two of Davenport Speedway’s March 25 and 26 Thaw Brawl. Modifieds and IMCA Northern SportMods are on both cards, with Friday and Saturday SportMod features paying $500 to win. The Saturday Modified winner also becomes Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligible. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Razor Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded each night. There is no entry fee and pit passes are $40. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps start at approximately 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. Spectator admission is $30 on Friday and $35 on Saturday. Friday, Sept. 26, brings the Davenport Dirt Stars, while Saturday, Sept. 27, the Greg Durbin Memorial comes to Davenport for the first time. Friday’s card is headlined by the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites. Rapid Speedway to Sanction RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars in ’26

By Ben Deatherage ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa (Jan. 13, 2026) — Rapid Speedway will join the Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing program in 2026 with the addition of RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars. The 3/8-mile oval at the Lyon County Fairgrounds will host 10 RaceSaver Sprint Car events beginning May 1, with the final point night scheduled for August 28. Whiteaker Wins One for Home Team at I-37’s Texas Showdown

By J.M. Hallas PLEASANTON, Texas (Jan. 10, 2026) — The $2,000-to-win, 30-lap Texas Showdown IMCA Modified finale at I-37 Speedway started with Steven Whiteaker Jr. and Cody Laney on the front row. With the track sweep bonus already busted, the only remaining bonus was for the best combined finish by the ODS/Southern Touring IMCA Modified Series, setting up a winner-take-all showdown between the two front starters. When the green waved, Laney shot to the bottom first into turn one, but Whiteaker powered off the top to lead lap one ahead of Laney, Brenda Kirby-Morris, Jordan Grabouski in the Johnny Torres-owned no. 66, and Dean Abbey.
