BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 26, 2025) — On Saturday night, Sept. 6, after all championship features had been decided at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, the annual auction in the NAPA Auto Parts Fan Zone took center stage. Engines, chassis, and more went across the block, adding to the excitement of championship night and boosting the haul for two of the week’s biggest winners.
For two of those champions, the night got even bigger. Tim Ward’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory was worth $17,000 with his $10,000 winner’s purse and a Harris Modified chassis that sold for $7,000. Jake McBirnie’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car championship totaled $26,600 thanks to his $7,500 payday plus Terminator and B&B Racing chassis that brought $10,200 and $8,900.
Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks champion Dylan Nelson and Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods winner Jake Sachau also received brand new engines built by Midstate Machine with parts contributed by IMCA and Super Nationals sponsors. Their winning engines, along with Ward’s and McBirnie’s, were auctioned off with proceeds distributed to the rest of the fields — $7,400 for Ward’s, $5,200 for McBirnie’s, $7,000 for Sachau’s, and $7,300 for Nelson’s.
Additional auction highlights included a Tire Demon by Love Tap machine, which sold for $2,000. Ward directed those proceeds to the Hope For Harvey Foundation, and Tim Love of Tire Demon matched the donation.
The auction proceeds came on top of the champions’ already lucrative purses: $10,000 for Modifieds, $7,500 for Stock Cars, $5,000 for SportMods, and $3,000 for Hobby Stocks. In addition, contingency awards and new Midstate engines added over $22,500 for Ward, over $19,500 for McBirnie, over $17,500 for Sachau, and over $13,500 for Nelson.
All told, Ward’s week ended at more than $39,500, McBirnie’s at more than $46,000, Sachau’s at more than $22,500, and Nelson’s at more than $16,500 in cash, prizes, and contingency awards.
