BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 20, 2025) – For the fourth consecutive year, pre-entries for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s have topped the 1,000 mark. On August 20, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock driver Eric Cross of Salina, Kansas, became the 1,000th driver to register for the 43rd annual event.
All divisions are currently pacing ahead of last year’s totals, with 285 Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, 237 Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, 168 Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, 159 Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, 78 Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites, and 60 Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts already entered.
The overall all-time record of 1,036 competitors was set last year, with 1,061 pre-registered entries. The Stock Car total is already an all-time preregistration record for the class, surpassing last year’s mark of 281.
Outside of Iowa, leading states in registration are Wisconsin with 75, Minnesota and Nebraska each with 58, Texas with 52, Kansas with 50, Arizona with 40, Missouri with 38, Colorado with 27, California with 24, and Arkansas with 23.
Six straight nights of qualifying set the stage for championship Saturday at Boone Speedway. The IMCA STARS Mod Lites open the week with qualifying on Saturday, August 30, and Sunday, August 31, before their “big dance” feature on Sunday.
IMCA Hobby Stocks and IMCA Northern SportMods follow with qualifying races on Monday, September 1, and Tuesday, September 2, to set their rows for Saturday. IMCA Late Models make Monday their dance night with a complete show, while Tuesday features the IMCA Sport Compacts’ championship program.
From Wednesday, September 3, through Friday, September 5, the spotlight turns to IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA Modifieds, as three nights of qualifying determine their starters.
Last chance features are scheduled for Wednesday in the Hobby Stocks and Northern SportMods, while the Stock Cars and Modifieds will run their last chance features on Saturday prior to championship night.
Championship night arrives Saturday, September 6, when Hobby Stocks, Northern SportMods, Stock Cars, and Modifieds crown their 2025 Super Nationals champions.
A brief history of the last five years at Super Nationals shows just how much parity and tradition the event continues to deliver, with no shortage of repeat heroes or fresh faces adding their names to Boone Speedway history. The Mod Lites, which were added to the Super Nationals program in 2021, have only deepened that history while bringing new champions to the stage.
The IMCA Modifieds have crowned five straight different champions, with Ricky Thornton Jr. in 2020, Cody Laney in 2021, Tom Berry Jr. in 2022, Tim Ward in 2023, and Dylan Thornton in 2024. IMCA Stock Car winners include Donavon Smith in 2020, Dallon Murty in 2021 and 2022, Dylan Thornton in 2023, and Kelly Shryock in 2024, with Murty standing as the only repeat champion in that stretch.
In the IMCA Hobby Stocks, Nathan Ballard claimed titles in 2020 and 2024, Mike Smith won in 2021 and 2023, and Zach Olmstead earned the 2022 championship. The IMCA Northern SportMods have also produced a different champion every year, with Johnathon Logue in 2020, Austen Becerra in 2021, Matthew Looft in 2022, Jake Sachau in 2023, and Logan Anderson in 2024.
The IMCA Late Models have been equally diverse, with Ricky Thornton Jr. taking the victory in 2020, Cody Laney in 2021, Tom Berry Jr. in 2022, Tim Ward in 2023, and Dylan Thornton in 2024.
The IMCA Sport Compacts were rained out in 2020 but have crowned Mitch Bielenberg in 2021, Jake Benischek in 2022, Devin Jones in 2023, and Brad Chandler in 2024.
Since being added in 2021, the IMCA STARS Mod Lites saw Dillon Raffurty dominate the first two years, before Ronnie Choate broke through in 2023 and Riley Clem carried the momentum into 2024.
With a thousand drivers chasing history and several divisions boasting five straight different winners, the 2025 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s once again promises a week of drama, excitement, and unforgettable moments on dirt racing’s biggest stage.
