ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 26, 2025) – The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature had the fans at Arlington Raceway on the edge of their seats with five different leaders in a race packed with drama. Jason Schroeder led the opening lap, but Todd Stinehart, who started eighth, wasted no time and took over on lap two.
Trent Loverude, racing with a broken foot, worked his way into the battle by lap six, trading the lead back and forth with Stinehart. Clint Hatlestad was also right there, making it a thrilling three-way contest. A caution on lap 14 flew when Wayne Govig spun and collected J.J. Reimers. On the restart, Hatlestad powered around Stinehart, setting up a showdown with Loverude.
The two exchanged the top spot three different times on the final lap alone. Coming out of turn four, Hatlestad appeared to have it—but at the line, it was the fifth starting Loverude scoring the win by mere inches. It was his sixth Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2025, five of which have come at Arlington. Stinehart was third.
Probst Powers from 10th to 25th Career Northern Region Win
Patrick Oestreich led the opening lap of the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature before a yellow flew for a Travis Koester spin. That handed the lead to RJ Esqueda, who held it for two laps until another caution came out for Brad Becker. Shortly after, Chad Volk dropped out with mechanical issues. That opened the door for hard-charging Cory Probst, who stormed through the field from 10th to the lead. He never looked back, scoring his 25th B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win—eight of those at Arlington. His father Dan Probst crossed in second, with Esqueda settling for third.
Gatton Cruises to Third Sport Compact Win of 2025
Dale Gatton made it look easy in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature, leading all the way in a smooth, mostly caution-free race. With two laps to go, Gary Schumacher pulled off with issues, but the race stayed green. Gatton picked up his third win of the season—all of them at Arlington.
Carter Untouchable in SportMod Main Event
A first-lap caution flew in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature when Broddy Enter made contact trying to get around Joey Reimers and spun. But from there, it was all smooth sailing. Jeff Carter led every lap of the green-to-checkered run to collect his second win of the season—both at the Arlington half-mile. Jeff Lloyd kept Carter in his sights to finish second, with Eric Larson completing the podium.
Stevens Scores First Win of Season in Sprint Cars
Rookie Brayden Allen led the first seven laps of the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature before slipping off the high side in turn two, allowing Neal Stevens to slide under him and grab the lead. Trevor Serbus also capitalized, getting by Allen as well. The final laps became a duel between Stevens and Serbus, with Stevens holding off the veteran to capture his first win of the year. Matt Hasara took third.
Mackenthun Charges from Ninth to Win Stock Car Main
Chris Neisen jumped to the lead from the pole in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, but Andrea McCain made a move coming out of turn two on lap three and took command. She would lead the next 13 circuits, while several cars pulled off with issues—but no cautions slowed the race.
Dan Mackenthun, who started ninth, was methodically working through the field. By lap 16, he made his move down the backstretch and slipped by McCain for the top spot. He went on to win his sixth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region feature of 2025, with three of those victories coming at Arlington. McCain held on for second while Ken Tietz came home third.
