SEYMOUR, Wis. (July 25, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Outagamie Speedway kicked off with Dan Roedl grabbing the lead at the drop of the green. Roedl opened up a lead on the field and looked set to grab an easy checkered flag, but “The Hitman” Johnny Whitman had something else in mind.
Whitman, the current point leader and defending division champ, started his march to the front by sliding inside Jayden Schmidt on lap seven to move up to fourth. A lap later, Whitman picked off Tanner Janke for third. By lap 11, Whitman snuck past Konnor Wilinski to take second.
Meanwhile, Roedl was still setting the pace up front and held a lead of over two seconds when Whitman moved into the runner-up spot. That advantage shrunk to just two car lengths at the checkers, but it was enough for Roedl to earn his first victory of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Whitman added to his points lead with a second-place finish, and Wilinski completed the top three.
Wendt Stays Cool Under Pressure for Long-Awaited Stock Car Victory
Tyler Wendt grabbed the early lead of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event and maintained it through halfway despite constant pressure from Wyatt Blashe, Dan Sell Jr., Brandon Czarapata, and Jerry Wilinski. The second half of the race saw the top five swap positions nearly every corner, but Wendt was not to be denied. He held strong through the chaos to pick up his first win of 2025 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Sell crossed the line second, with Wilinski taking third.
Oreskovich Strikes Again with Fourth Outagamie SportMod Triumph
The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature began with pole sitter Brian Ankerson leading the opening circuits, until his car stepped out from under him in turn two. That miscue handed the top spot to Grant Besaw for the ensuing restart.
Austin Zdroik made the most of that restart, grabbing second from Logan Mahoney, then slipping past Besaw for the lead on lap five. Multiple cautions interrupted the flow of the race, but last week’s feature winner Max Oreskovich took advantage of those stoppages. He used successive restarts to climb into third by halfway, then made his winning move on lap 13.
With the time limit reached, a final green-white-checkered restart set up the finish. Oreskovich nailed the restart and held on for the victory—his fourth of the season, all at Outagamie. Ryan Schmidt came home second, Zdroik third.
Sport Compact Feature Postponed
The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature was canceled after cars had taken to the track due to a medical emergency in the pits. The incident resulted in a lengthy red flag, and time constraints ultimately forced the cancellation of the final race of the evening.
Drivers were awarded equal pay and points, and the planned $500 top prize has been rolled over to next week’s event.
