By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 24, 2026) — The streak continued Friday night at Davenport Speedway as Tommy Elston became the seventh different winner in seven Sunoco IMCA Late Model features this season, highlighting the final race before the Mississippi Valley Fair. Making his first Davenport start of the year, the Keokuk driver charged from 12th to capture his eighth victory of the season. Jesse Bodin led the opening 10 laps before surrendering the lead to Travis Denning. Denning’s time out front was brief, however, as Elston powered into the lead on lap 13 and drove away to the checkered flag. Blaise Lewis finished second while Denning settled for third. By Ben Deatherage VINTON, Iowa (July 27, 2026) — Three Sunoco IMCA Late Model competitors collected Sunoco Bonus Bucks awards during a busy month of July, while additional contingency prizes were awarded at sanctioned events across Nebraska. The scheduled July 18 Sunoco Bonus Bucks event at 34 Raceway was postponed because of inclement weather and has been rescheduled for Aug. 1. The program resumed July 23 at US 30 Speedway, where Zach Zeitner of Bellevue, Nebraska, raced to the feature victory. Having already claimed a Sunoco Bonus Bucks award earlier this season, the Bonus Bucks certificate rolled to runner-up Tyler Iverson of Albion. Drew Baker charged from 16th to third, while Andy Eickhoff finished fourth and Jody Krug rounded out the top five. By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (July 18, 2026) —The Sunoco IMCA Late Models capped another outstanding night of racing Saturday at Maquoketa Speedway with a thrilling finish. The perfectly prepared racing surface at the Jackson County Fairgrounds quarter-mile allowed competitors to race two and three-wide throughout the evening, producing an exciting 25-lap feature that wasn’t decided until the final few feet. Steve Johnson paced the field early before Dalton Simonsen took over the top spot. Tenth-starting Blaise Lewis worked the extreme low groove to take the lead with 10 laps remaining and appeared headed to victory. A late caution, however, erased Lewis’ advantage and set up a dramatic four-lap sprint to the finish. Lewis hugged the bottom while Dustin Smith powered around the top and Ron Klein repeatedly threw sliders at the leaders. By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 17, 2026) — Six Sunoco IMCA Late Model races have produced six different winners at Davenport Speedway this season, and Friday night’s feature continued the trend. Their feature also produced one of the night’s best races, as Jesse Bodin jumped to an early lead and paced the opening 10 laps before Nathan Balensiefen took command on lap 11. Twelfth-starting Travis Denning methodically worked through the field, grabbing the lead with eight laps remaining and staying there to the checkered flag. The Sterling, Illinois, driver earned his sixth IMCA Late Model victory of the season and first away from East Moline Speedway in 2026. Balensiefen finished second, Mitch Morris was third, Logan Veloz advanced from 10th to fourth, and Jayden Johnson completed the top five. America’s Racin’ Vacation returns to Boone Speedway in Boone, Iowa, from Sept. 5-12, where thousands of drivers, crews, and fans will converge for one of the largest racing events in the world. Before registering, competitors must first purchase an IMCA license for every division in which they intend to compete. Drivers should then register for the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals on MyRacePass. By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 26, 2026) — Fifteen-year-old Bryson Eckrich stormed from the 15th starting position Friday night to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature, earning his third victory of the season and second at Davenport Speedway in 2026. Cody Weih and Mike Adam traded the lead during the opening laps before Scott Walker took command on lap 13. Eckrich completed the winning pass one lap later and drove away over the closing circuits.
