(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. (Apr. 26, 2025) — A rare Saturday night show kicked off the 2025 season at Nodak Speedway, and the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds delivered an instant classic on the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. Marcus Tomlinson and Justin Medler battled for the early advantage, with Tomlinson edging ahead after lap one. The six-time defending North Dakota State champion and 2022 Nodak track king looked strong before a restart brought two-time North Dakota State champion and 2017 IMCA national titlist Jason Wolla into the mix. Wolla muscled his way to the front by lap five, with Travis Hagen soon entering the fray. Banks stole the show Saturday night at Lincoln County Raceway, roaring from 13th on the grid to the front of the pack to win an electrifying Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature. Each year, the event honors one of the great promoters in the track’s storied history. Cliff Chambers was instrumental in keeping weekly racing alive on the famed 1/4-mile high-banked clay oval for many years, and this memorial race continues his lasting legacy. (Apr. 18, 2025) — Daniel Gottschalk made the most of his 2025 debut, outdueling Greg Gustus in a spirited Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Friday night at WaKeeney Speedway to earn his first score of the year in the Jet Racing Central Region. The race started off with a front row of Greg Gustus and Gottschalk, who battled closely throughout the feature, as each took turns leading at different points. (Apr. 12, 2025) — The Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods put on a show Saturday night at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, with Wichita Falls, Texas, racer Payton Zentgraf coming out on top in the 20-lap main event. John Miller led the opening circuit before Devin Chambers took over on lap two and quickly pulled away. Behind him, Miller and Payton Zentgraf battled for second, giving Chambers room to extend his advantage. Zentgraf eventually cleared Miller and set his sights on Chambers. The two front-runners engaged in a thrilling side-by-side duel as Zentgraf worked the high side lap after lap. On lap 16, he finally made the pass stick. The Reading, Minnesota, driver, a three-time Murray County Speedway track champion and 2015 Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock National titleholder, fought off Maguire DeJong early and then survived a three-wide duel in the final corner. (Mar. 29, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car 25-lap main event capped off the second and final night of the Thaw Brawl at Aztec Speedway’s 73rd season opener, and it ended with 19-year-old Lady Eagle racer Layne Bellm collecting her first win of the year. 1997 track champion Tony Hill won the race to the front on lap one and created early separation. The battle for second heated up between Jeremy Hughes and Casey Murdoch, with Murdoch eventually winning the fight and setting his sights on Hill. Murdoch began closing the gap as Bellm, the 2023 Phillips County Raceway champion from Bloomfield, Colorado, moved into third. The race took a sudden turn when Hill slowed to a stop on lap 10, retiring to the pits and handing the lead to Murdoch. (Mar. 29, 2025) — Six-time reigning South Central Region champion William Gould put on a clinic in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, earning his first win of 2025. Steve Askew, the 2021 South Central Region Rookie of the Year, led the opening laps until a lap 4 move by Gould in turn one put the Calera driver out front.
