IMCA Stock Cars chase $10,000 top prize at Batesville’s Mid-America Championship

BATESVILLE, Ark. (Aug. 29, 2022) – The richest race of the season for The Class Too Tough to Tame in Arkansas is on tap Sept. 2-3, when Batesville Motor Speedway rolls out the red carpet for the Schoenfeld Headers Mid-America IMCA Stock Car Championship.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars race for $10,000 to win at the 27th annual event, along with an automatic starting spot in the upcoming B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.

The runner-up earns $5,000 with $2,500 paid for third, $1,250 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. Minimum start money is $800 with 25 cars set to take the initial green flag in the 50-lap main event. 

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. both nights with a full show for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, hobby stocks and cruisers on the opening night card. Last-chance races fill the field for the Stock Car main event with the hobbies, cruisers and legend late models on Saturday. 

Entry fee of $150 can be paid at the gate. Pit passes are $35. Adult grandstand admission is $15 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. Kids ages 11 and under get in free both nights.

Tech inspection gets underway on Thursday, Sept. 1 with test and tune and time trials at 7 p.m. 

Both Friday and Saturday Schoenfeld Headers Mid-America IMCA Stock Car Championship race programs will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

Batesville reschedules $1,500 to win IMCA Auto King special

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The IMCA Modified king or queen of Batesville Motor Speedway’s Auto King Modified Madness show takes home the top check of $1,500. Rescheduled from earlier in the month due to wet grounds, the Friday, June 25 special at Batesville is a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier and pays $1,000 for second, $500 for third and a minimum of $75 to start. Speed Demon Performance Parts gives a $200 case bonus to the hard charger and the hard luck driver goes home with a Hoosier G-60 tire.  There is no entry fee and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars are also on the card.  Pit passes are $35. Batesville’s IMCA Modified Race For Hope boasts $12,000 payday

BATESVILLE, Ark. – One of the biggest races on the IMCA Modified calendar will benefit two area non-profit organizations this season.    Batesville Motor Speedway’s fourth annual Race For Hope 71 is Oct. 6-10, with $12,000 paid to win and a minimum of $1,500 to start the main event.  The Saturday night main event is a qualifier for the 2021 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. Top two finishers in each heat on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday advance to qualifying features that send the top 10 finishers to the inside, middle and outside rows, respectively, of Satur­day’s 30-car starting grid.  Drivers who don’t advance to the nightly feature earn points in one of four (B-C-D-E) non-qualifier races.  Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Thornton is $20,000 richer after Race For Hope 74 victory 

By Mike Spieker BATESVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 30) – Ricky Thornton Jr. captured the inaugural Race For Hope 74 title Saturday night at Batesville Motor Speedway. Thornton took the lead on lap 28 of 74 before going on to score the $20,000 IMCA Modified payday. “This one is definitely at the top of my list of races I’ve ever won, honestly,” said Thornton in vic­tory lane following the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier. “It’s definitely the most money I’ve ever won.
