NY-Penn Series Closes 2026 With Two-Night Thunder Mountain Finale Oct. 30-31

CENTER LISLE, N.Y. (Sept. 28, 2026) — The final two stops of the 2026 NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series season bring the tour to Thunder Mountain Speedway for a pair of special events Friday and Saturday, Oct. 30-31.

Friday’s Billy Ward Memorial presented by Patriot Tank Lines will pay $1,004 to win before the season concludes Saturday with the Ed and Jan Billings Classic presented by 71 Speed & Design, paying $3,116 to win.

Both Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified features will serve as qualifying events for the 2027 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Each winner will earn eligibility to attempt to qualify for next year’s Invitational at Boone Speedway next September.

The Billy Ward Memorial has quickly become a staple of the NY-Penn schedule. Eddie Sites captured the inaugural running in 2023 at Afton Motorsports Park, while Keith Lamphere enters this year’s event as the defending winner after taking the checkers in 2025 at Thunder Mountain.

Saturday brings the 2026 NY-Penn campaign to a close with the Ed and Jan Billings Classic. Charles Fulton captured last year’s edition at Thunder Mountain.

The two-night weekend will put the finishing touches on the 2026 NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series season.

Selinsgrove hosts Sunday opener for NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series

SELINSGROVE, Pa. (April 18, 2023) – A first-ever event at Selinsgrove Speedway is first on the schedule for the third annual Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by MR Graphix. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds chase an appropriate $2,023 top check in the 2023 season lidlifter this Sunday, April 23 at the central Pennsylvania speed plant, located in the heart of the scenic Susquehanna River Valley. Winner of the 25-lap main event becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Bridgeport NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series show postponed

BRIDGEPORT, N.J. (March 25, 2022) – IMCA Modified drivers will have to wait a little longer for their first-ever race in New Jersey. Saturday’s scheduled Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by Precision Hydraulic & Oil event at Bridgeport Speedway has been postponed due to cold temperatures and forecasts for rain. McKinney Makes 1,000-Mile Trip Pay Off With MLA Nationals Victory

(Sept. 26, 2026) — A roughly 1,000-mile trip from Magnolia, Del., paid off in a big way for Ryan McKinney Saturday night as he captured the $2,000 Mod Lites of Arkansas IMCA Nationals at Riverside International Speedway. McKinney started third and found himself in the right place at the right time late in the feature, taking advantage of trouble for the leaders before driving the No. 25M to victory.
