ESTEVAN, SK (July 25, 2026) — Hometown driver Kody Scholpp pocketed the $5,000 top prize Saturday night, rallying late to win the inaugural Prairie Modified Nationals at Estevan Motor Speedway after a thrilling 45-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature that featured multiple lead changes and a mandatory halfway inversion.
Travis Hagen, Steven Pfeifer and Scholpp all spent time at the front during the opening 21 laps, with Scholpp leading the most circuits before the scheduled halfway break.
The redraw produced a two, forcing Scholpp to exchange positions with Pfeifer, who inherited the lead to begin the second 24-lap segment. Hagen lined up alongside Scholpp on the second row for the Delaware double-file restart and immediately charged to the cushion, using the high side to wrestle the lead away from Pfeifer.
Scholpp wasn’t finished. The Estevan driver slipped past Pfeifer for second before chasing down Hagen and reclaiming the lead with six laps remaining. A caution with four laps to go erased his advantage, but Scholpp was flawless on the restart to secure the Prairie Modified Nationals trophy and the $5,000 payday.
The victory was Scholpp’s fourth of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, with all four coming at Estevan Motor Speedway. The feature also served as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier, making Scholpp eligible to attempt to qualify for the event during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Hagen finished second, Gabriel Deschamp was third, Pfeifer crossed the stripe fourth, and Shawn Strand completed the top five.
Friday’s IMCA Modified pole dash paid $1,000 and determined the first three rows for Saturday night’s Prairie Modified Nationals finale.
Drivers lined up according to their heat race finishes, with Shawn Strand leading the opening laps while holding off Steven Pfeifer. Several cautions slowed the early stages before Pfeifer took command on lap four.
Starting eighth, Hagen capitalized on the restarts, charging to the front before using the cushion to take the lead with seven laps remaining. He led the rest of the way to earn the pole dash victory and the top starting spot for Saturday’s championship feature.
Satran Breaks Through in Hobby Stocks
Minot, North Dakota’s Kyler Satran earned his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season in Saturday’s Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature.
Faith Kentner led the opening lap before Cash Saxon raced into the lead. A caution with four laps remaining tightened the field, and Satran elected to restart on the outside while running second.
The move paid off as Satran rocketed around Saxon to take the lead coming to the white flag. Saxon threw a slider entering turn one on the final lap, resulting in contact between the leaders. The race ended under yellow-checkered conditions with Satran credited with the victory.
Pat Smith finished second, Tyson Grinstead was third, Brody Singleton advanced from 11th to fourth to earn hard charger honors, and Dustin Skjerdal completed the top five.
Hanson Scores First Win of 2026
Connor Hanson captured his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season in Saturday’s Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature.
Chris Tuchscherer led the opening four laps before Hanson found an opening on the inside to take command. Hanson led the caution-free final 16 circuits to secure the win.
Tuchscherer finished second ahead of Chase Davidson and Kayden Hjorteland. Dalton Flory charged from 12th to fifth to earn hard charger honors.
Mayer Leads Every Lap in SportMods
Friday night’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature belonged to Dustyn Mayer.
Starting from the pole, the Frobisher, Saskatchewan, driver jumped into the lead at the drop of the green while Gunner Raynard gave chase.
Keenan Glasser rallied from eighth to second to earn hard charger honors, but Mayer was never challenged as he led all 20 laps to collect his first victory of the season.
Gunner Raynard finished third, Leevi Runge was fourth, and Landon Runge rounded out the top five.
