Zogg Seals Cedar County Fair Thriller with Last-Lap Pass

TIPTON, Iowa (July 9, 2026) — Chris Zogg made the winning move at exactly the right time, taking the lead down the backstretch on the final lap to capture a thrilling Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Thursday night during the Cedar County Fair at Cedar County Raceway.

Mark Schulte controlled the majority of the main event, but the closing laps saw the front-runners tighten into a four-car battle for the lead. As the field took the white flag, three drivers remained in contention for the victory.

Zogg, who started third, found an opening on the backstretch of the final circuit and surged into the lead before racing on to the checkered flag.

The victory was the New Liberty racer’s third Razor Chassis North Central Region triumph of the 2026 season and his first at Cedar County Raceway this year.

Jace Whitt, who charged forward from the 10th starting position, finished second, while Schulte settled for third after leading most of the distance. Austin Stamm crossed the stripe fourth, with Matt Werner completing the top five.

Kay makes it five straight Deery Series wins at Cedar County

TIPTON, Iowa (April 20) – Another Deery Brothers Summer Series event at Cedar County Raceway ended with another feature win for Justin Kay. Kay won his fifth consecutive IMCA Late Model tour main event at Tipton Saturday night, earning $2,000. The victory was the career 28th for the three-time and defending series champion, now the first driver to win five consecutive Deery events at the same track. “There’s just something about Cedar County,” Kay said of the track he started racing at and where he won the only 4-cylinder track title of his career. “I love racing there.” The 491st event in Deery Series history saw Kay motor from sixth starting to second, then pass pole starter Andy Eckrich on the 13th of 50 circuits. The race stayed green the last 32 laps and while Eckrich was able to make up ground in traffic he wasn’t able to find a way around the leader. Diercks and Dierks Win on Separate Nights in Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds

By Jerry Mackey TIPTON, Iowa (July 26, 2025) — Friday night’s Gary Reinhart Memorial feature at Cedar County Raceway for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds drew 27 entries for the $2,000-to-win main event. Spencer Diercks of Davenport charged through the field from his 10th starting position and took the lead on lap 16. Diercks hit his marks lap after lap to outdistance a stellar field and secure his ninth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season. Izac Mallicoat crossed the stripe in second while Joel Rust completed the podium. Saturday’s Modified main belonged to Brad Dierks, who started up front and led the entire distance of the 20-car feature. The win marked Dierks’ second of the year in the North Central Region. Cedar County Fair show pays IMCA Modified winner $2,000

TIPTON, Iowa – IMCA Modifieds provide the blue ribbon fair entertainment in a $2,000 to win event Thursday, July 11 at Cedar County Raceway. The Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier pays a minimum of $130 to start; there is no entry fee for the draw/redraw show and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and E3 Spark Plugs State points will be awarded. A non-qualifier feature pays $300 to win and $75 to start; the winner of that event has the option of taking the $300 or starting in the back of the main event field. The grandstand at Tipton will be open all day. Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Spectator admission is free with purchase of admission to the grounds, $8 before 4 p.m. and $12 after 4 p.m. Parking at the fairgrounds is free. Shryock Rallies Late to Win Hobo Hustle Stock Car Shootout at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (July 10, 2026) — Despite more than four inches of rain falling at Hancock County Speedway just two nights earlier, a tremendous effort by the track crew and fair board had the racing surface ready for Friday night’s Hobo Hustle Stock Car Shootout, sponsored by Nutrien Ag Solutions and J & K Mathas Farms. In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Colby Fett made it three-wide on the opening laps to take the lead and quickly pulled away from the field. A caution just past the halfway point erased his advantage and brought Kelly Shryock into contention. Shryock applied heavy pressure once the race resumed before driving past Fett in the closing laps to score his third consecutive Britt Stock Car victory. Johnson Charges to First Jackson Win of 2026

(July 9, 2026) — Matt Johnson powered to his first Jackson Motorplex victory of the season Thursday night, taking command on lap seven and pulling away to win the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature during Round 3 of the Heiman Fire Equipment Mayhem Summer Series. Johnson, of St. Peter, started second and quickly settled into contention behind early leader Hunter Hanson. After Hanson paced the opening six laps, Johnson made the winning move on lap seven and steadily built his advantage. Mass Masters Modified .38 Special at Black Hills

(July 10, 2026) — Eric Mass put together another dominant performance Friday night, leading every lap of the $1,000-to-win IMCA .38 Special for Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds at Black Hills Speedway to earn his eighth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season. Mass, of Rapid City, started on the pole alongside Eddie Kirchoff and immediately established command of the 15-lap feature. Despite one caution slowing the event, Mass never relinquished the lead and cruised to the victory. All eight of his victories have come at Black Hills Speedway. The special event also served as a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
