Sites Doubles Up With Woodhull IMCA Modified Victory

WOODHULL, N.Y. (June 27, 2026) — Eddie Sites completed a perfect weekend Saturday night, racing to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature at Woodhull Raceway after capitalizing on mechanical trouble for the early leader.

Jacob McConnell led the opening laps after slipping past Sites, but several early cautions kept the field tightly packed. When the race settled into a green-flag rhythm, McConnell suffered a front-end issue that forced him to relinquish the lead.

Sites inherited the top spot and quickly opened a comfortable advantage, cruising to victory in his first appearance of the season at the high-banked New York oval.

The Towanda, Pennsylvania, driver earned his second Close Racing Supply IMCA Eastern Region victory of 2026 after scoring his first the previous night at The Hill Speedway in his native state.

Earlier season winners Tyler Belcher and Jake Maynard completed the podium in second and third, respectively. Charlie Fulton finished fourth, while former Woodhull Raceway champion Jakub Ingham rounded out the top five.

Sites wins wild one at Woodhull

(May 20, 2023) – After day-long rains, nobody expected racing to happen at the 1/3 mile Woodhull Raceway for the 2023 Close Racing Supply NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series presented by M.R. Grafix. But the persistence of the track crew in not giving up and prepping the surface meant racing did happen, and Eddie Sites won his second Friesen Performance IMCA Modified series event of the season in a wild finish. Gary Roberts and Shawn Bruce brought the field to the green for the 25-lap feature event, with Roberts spinning in turn one, collecting Sites and Rodney Morgan. Rich Michael Jr. took the lead on the restart as Bruce battled with Tyler Stoddard for third. Sites outdragged Michael on a lap three restart but the yellow flew for Brad Sites spinning on lap five to bunch the field once again. Rodney Morgan Rules the Bullring to Win Sean Lias Memorial at Woodhull

(July 26, 2025) — Rodney Morgan made it a weekend to remember by capturing his second win in as many nights during the 5th Annual Sean Lias Memorial Race at Woodhull Raceway. The victory marked Morgan’s second win of the current campaign in the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region. Seventeen Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers signed in for the Saturday night program at the Bullring, with the feature doubling as a points race for Woodhull regulars. Shawn Bruce and Earl Zimmer led the field to the green for the 25-lap main presented by Chasin Dreams Transport and Lubic Sales and Marketing. Zimmer led the opening three laps before Morgan made his move and powered into the top spot on lap four. The event’s rhythm was interrupted by rain on lap 13, forcing officials to halt the race while the passing shower moved through. Once racing resumed, Morgan left no doubt, holding strong to the checkers. Zimmer held on for second while Bruce crossed the line in third.

Another rookie finds NY-Penn IMCA Modified success at Woodhull

WOODHULL, N.Y. (Sept. 28, 2024) – Dalton Maynard sold out his crate sportsman equipment and joined the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified ranks for the 2024 Close Racing Supply NY-Penn Series presented by Insinger Performance season. The New Albany, Pa., pilot struggled a bit with the change, with good runs through the season but inconsistent results, as he learned the changes needed in set up and driving style. The S&S Custom Auto Body team showed up at Woodhull Raceway determined to pull out a solidresult in the MJH Oilfield-sponsored season finale and instead of a period, Maynard’s story ended with an exclamation point. After a second place finish in his heat race put him on the inside of the second row for the main, the rookie grabbed the lead on the second lap and fought off every challenge to record his first IMCA feature win, earning $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well. Butt Edges Wroten in Photo Finish at Maquoketa

By Jerry Mackey MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 27, 2026) — Carson Butt won one of the closest finishes of the season Saturday night at Maquoketa Speedway, edging Leah Wroten by just .024 seconds in a thrilling Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. A stout field of 30 Hobby Stocks signed in, and officials elected to start the entire field in the main event. Racing remained remarkably clean with only a pair of minor cautions as competitors raced three- and four-wide throughout the feature. Wroten battled to the front and led several circuits before the 15-year-old Butt mounted a late charge from the 10th starting position. The pair took the white flag virtually side by side, with Butt diving to the extreme inside exiting turn four to nip Wroten at the finish line. Weldon Charges From 11th for Last-Lap Eagle Sprint Victory

(June 27, 2026) — Gaige Weldon completed an incredible charge from 11th on the starting grid, throwing a race-winning slide job on Brandon Horton coming to the checkered flag to capture a thrilling RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature Saturday night at Eagle Raceway. Nathan Weiler paced the opening lap before Monty Ferriera raced into the lead on lap two. Horton worked his way forward and grabbed the top spot with seven circuits remaining, but Weldon was slicing through the field. The Hinton, Iowa, driver climbed to second after passing both Tyler Drueke and Horton with just a handful of laps left, then threw a perfectly timed slider entering the final corners to steal the victory on the final lap.
