By William Nusser

LA CROSSE, Kan. (June 3, 2026) — Rush County Speedway will open its 2026 season on Friday, June 5, with the Myers Racing Engines Bullring Nationals at the quarter-mile oval located on the Rush County Fairgrounds.

The 2026 campaign marks a significant milestone for the speedway with the addition of five Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing sanctioned divisions.

Rush County Speedway will sanction Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts during the 2026 season.

Drivers competing in the IMCA Modified division will race for Jet Racing Central Region points, while IMCA Stock Car competitors will earn EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points and IMCA Hobby Stock drivers will race for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points. Competitors in those divisions, along with IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sport Compacts, will also earn Kansas State and IMCA National points throughout the 2026 season.

“Adding full IMCA sanctioning is an important step for our speedway and our racers,” said promoter William Nusser. “It gives drivers the opportunity to race for state, regional, and national points while competing under a consistent set of rules. We believe it will help continue the growth we’ve seen at the Bullring and provide great racing for our fans.”

The June 5 season opener will feature the United Rebel Sprint Series, one of the premier RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car organizations in the region, competing in the Myers Racing Engines Bullring Nationals alongside Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars competitors.

The season continues July 31 with the Rumble at the Bullring presented by Central Spray Foam & Cement Lifting, featuring IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Northern SportMods, and IMCA Sport Compacts.

The August 14 Cattleman’s Classic presented by Double R Weed Control will showcase IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Hobby Stocks.

Fairboard member and longtime announcer Chris Long believes the addition of IMCA sanctioning will strengthen competition at the speedway.

“As the voice of the Bullring, I’m excited to see Rush County Speedway become fully sanctioned with IMCA,” Long said. “It creates more opportunities for drivers and brings another level of competition to our events. We’re looking forward to a great season.”

The speedway thanks the Rush County Fair, its sponsors, competitors, and fans for their continued support heading into the 2026 season.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m., grandstands open at 5 p.m., and racing begins at 7 p.m. for all scheduled events. General admission tickets are $18 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Pit passes are $35 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-12.
