HARLAN, Iowa (May 30, 2026) — Thirty-three Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods signed in at Shelby County Speedway and the feature lived up to expectations.
Josalyn Elmquist jumped out to the early lead before defending track champion Hayden Hillgartner worked his way to the front. As the laps wound down, Red Oak’s Cody Olsen charged through the field from the eighth starting position and made a late-race move to steal the victory.
The win was Olsen’s second of the season and came at his second different track in 2026.
Hillgartner settled for second while Corey Madden completed the podium in third. Elmquist finished fourth and Brayden Shepherd rounded out the top five.
Meiners Scores First Stock Car Win of Season
The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars closed out the evening with Austin Meiners putting together an impressive drive from the eighth starting position.
The Polk City driver worked his way through traffic and eventually overtook Larry Robinson Jr. to score his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.
Robinson finished second while Riley Christensen advanced from ninth to third. Defending track champion Mike Albertsen crossed the stripe fourth and Tyler Smith completed the top five after starting 10th.
Neese Defends Home Turf in Hobby Stocks
Thirty-five Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks packed the pit area and produced another exciting feature.
Derrick Rohe and Nick Shannon battled for the early lead before hometown driver Gage Neese made his move from the fifth starting position and took command.
The Harlan driver earned his second B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season, with both wins coming at Shelby County Speedway.
Zach Hemmingsen advanced from 10th to finish second while Brian Buboltz completed the podium in third. Shannon finished fourth and Rohe rounded out the top five.
Krug Family Finishes One-Two in Late Models
The Sunoco IMCA Late Models saw the Krug family take center stage.
Jordan Krug of Council Bluffs raced from eighth to victory while Jody Krug finished second to complete the family sweep of the top two positions.
The win was Jordan Krug’s third of the season at three different tracks.
Jon Plowman charged from 10th to finish third. Derek Daly crossed the line fourth and Allan Hopp advanced from 14th to fifth.
Mahlberg Charges from Ninth in Sport Compacts
The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature saw Cody Allbee take command early before Caine Mahlberg methodically worked his way through the field.
Starting ninth, the Dunlap driver eventually tracked down and passed Allbee to secure his third victory of the season and first triumph at Shelby County Speedway in 2026.
Allbee finished second while David Coenen advanced from eighth to third. Evan Ewoldt crossed the stripe fourth and Dalton Woodle rallied from 10th to complete the top five.
