Avila Outduels Carter in SportMods at Marshalltown’s Harvest Hustle

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Oct. 25, 2025) — The Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods produced another exciting showdown at the Fast Shafts Harvest Hustle on a seasonally chilly night at Marshalltown Speedway, highlighted by an early restart that changed everything. Matt Avila used the high side perfectly to surge around National champion Brayton Carter and take command of the race. Despite a late caution tightening the field, Avila stayed smooth and steady to the finish. Carter finished runner-up, followed by Brayden Shepherd, Dylan VanWyk, and Cam Reimers.

Rookie Butt Steals Show in Hobby Stocks 

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks delivered the most dramatic finish of the night, where a packed grandstand braved the cool air to see a first-time winner steal the spotlight. Veteran Bradley Graham, no stranger to leading laps on the High Banks, paced the early circuits until 14-year-old rookie Carson Butt mounted a stunning late-race charge. Butt slipped past Graham in the closing laps to capture a thrilling, crowd-pleasing victory — a breakout moment to close his rookie campaign. Graham settled for second, followed by Josh Starr, Nicholas Ronnebaum, and Brandon Nielsen.

Bryan Dominates Mod Lite Main Event

The Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites opened the evening with a commanding performance from Randy Bryan. Starting third, Bryan powered to the front early and never looked back, pulling away to a flag-to-flag victory. Austin Gray and Jon Padilla completed the podium, while Colby Oberembt and hard charger Justin Raffurty — who raced his way into the feature and gained ten positions — rounded out the top five.

McBirnie Masters Modified Finale

In the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Jake McBirnie started on the pole and made it look effortless. Controlling every restart and corner, McBirnie led from start to finish to close out the 2025 season in dominant fashion. Even after a late yellow, he never looked back, sealing a statement victory to wrap up the year on top.

Tripp Gaylord made a charge to finish second, followed by Kyle Brown, in third. Ward came home fourth, and Izac Mallicoat rounded out the top five.

Gardner Goes Green-to-Checkers in Sport Compacts


The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts wrapped up their season with a flawless, caution-free feature. Michael Gardner piloted his no. 46 machine from third to first and never relinquished the lead, cruising to a decisive victory. He was followed by Brian Hillringhouse, Adam Broehm, Mitch Bielenberg, and 2025 track champion Spencer Roggentien, who rounded out the top five.

Murty Powers from Fifth to Win Stock Car Feature

In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Dallon Murty charged from the fifth starting spot to take the lead on lap nine and never looked back. The two-time Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s champion cruised to victory ahead of Braden Richards, with Texan Jeffrey Abbey rounding out the podium. Jake McBirnie and Minnesota’s Curt Lund completed the top five in another competitive night of racing on the High Banks.
