NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Aug. 23, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Lincoln County Raceway saw North Platte’s Robbie Kosmacek put on a show, storming from a seventh-place starting spot to victory. Kosmacek grabbed the lead on lap eight and drove away to secure his first win of the year in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Alicia Hilzer ran second and Jacob Hagan third. The triumph also put the finishing touch on a dominant campaign for Kosmacek, who clinched the 2025 Hobby Stock track championship.
Bellm Breaks Through in Stock Car Showdown
The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event belonged to Layne Bellm of Broomfield, Colo., who dominated from the drop of the green flag to secure her first win of the season at Lincoln County. Bellm, who now owns five wins on the year with four in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, paced every lap ahead of runner-up D.J. Banks and third-place Robert Leonard. Despite finishing third on the night, Leonard’s steady season-long performance earned him the 2025 Stock Car track championship.
Cooper Caps Championship Run with SportMod Win
In the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod finale, North Platte’s Joseph Cooper put the exclamation point on his championship season. Cooper worked his way to the front and never looked back, collecting his third win of the year — all three coming at Lincoln County Raceway. Zane Turner finished second with Bryan Herrick third as Cooper celebrated both the feature victory and the season crown.
Steffens Seals Season with Modified Championship
Local favorite Ayden Steffens closed out the Lincoln County Raceway season in style, winning the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature and locking up the 2025 track championship. Steffens was untouchable, leading every lap for his sixth win of the campaign in the Jet Racing Central Region, with three of those victories coming at his home track in North Platte. He topped Troy Douglas and Jacob Tobey in the finale.
Schmidt Scores in Sport Compact Season Finale
The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature went to Justin Schmidt of Grand Island, who kept a fast pace to take the checkered flag. Anthony Simants crossed the line second. For Schmidt, the victory marked his sixth of the season, with all six wins coming at Lincoln County Raceway. His consistency throughout the year also earned him the 2025 Sport Compact track championship.
