Dosch Steals Dacotah Speedway Stock Car Thriller at the Line

MANDAN, N.D. (Aug. 15, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway had fans on their feet from green to checkered. Veteran Marlyn Seidler led the opening circuits, setting a strong pace before an early caution bunched the field. On the restart, Brock Beeter and Matt Dosch went to work on Scott Gartner for second, while Geoff Hellman used the high line to move past both into contention.

The race quickly turned into a three-way fight for the win, with Seidler steady through the middle, Dosch working the low side, and Hellman charging upstairs. They ran three wide as the white flag waved, trading the lead back and forth in a thrilling dash to the finish. Out of turn four, it was Dosch by a nose over Hellman at the line, with Seidler settling for third after leading all but the final two laps. The victory was Dosch’s second of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region, both coming at his home track in Mandan.

Keller Outduels Wolla in Modified Photo Finish

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature carried the same level of drama. Bruce King and Seidler started up front, with Seidler grabbing the early advantage as Zach Frederick and Jason Wolla battled close behind. Wolla slipped past for second, and the top three broke away until a caution with 13 to go closed the gap. Defending track champion Shawn Strand charged into the mix on the restart, moving past both Wolla and Frederick to join the fight.

Seidler slipped high with eight to go, opening the door for Wolla and Strand. With six laps left, Wolla surged ahead, only to have a late yellow tighten the battle once again. Jeremy Keller made his move in the closing laps, diving low under Wolla in a furious two-car duel to the finish. At the line, Keller edged Wolla in a photo finish with Strand claiming third. For Keller, it was his sixth win of 2025 in the Razor Chassis North Central Region, five of them coming at Dacotah Speedway, where he has been especially tough to beat.

Up to Challenge, Berry wins Ironman at Dacotah 

MANDAN, N.D. (June 8) – Tom Berry Jr.’s first win in three career IMCA Modified visits to Mandan was good for $800 at Dacotah Speedway’s 40/40 Ironman Challenge Friday night. Pole sitter Darrell Parsons, Travis Ulmer and Tim Perkins went three-wide into the first set of turns. Ulmer shuffled into the lead as John Corell passed Parsons for third. An early caution allowed Berry to slip by Corell and Parsons before another yellow regrouped the field. On the restart, Ulmer, Perkins and Berry went three wide for the lead. Contact among the leaders bumped Perkins out of the top five as Berry grabbed the front spot. As the laps wound down, Ulmer lost positions to Corell, Shawn Strand and Jeremy Keller. IMCA Dakota Classic Tour history made in 35th season

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (May 31, 2024) – Byron Fichter and Aaron Turnbull have been part of the Dakota Classic Tour for maybe more years than they’d like to admit.  This year, they’ll be in charge of it.  The two are new co-directors of the tour for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, set to visit six tracks in North Dakota and Saskatchewan from July 6-11.  “We have big shoes to fill,” Fichter said, acknowledging the efforts of founder and director John Gartner over the tour’s first 34 years. “People who come on the tour know the tracks in North Dakota and Canada are good hosts. Dahl rules Governor’s Cup standings at Dacotah Speedway 

MANDAN, N.D. (July 27-28) – Casey Arneson and Jeff Taylor were $800 feature winners while Mark Dahl’s consistency made him the overall IMCA Modified champion at Dacotah Speedway’s Governor’s Cup special. Arneson captured the Friday night victory ahead of Travis Hagen and Dahl. Taylor pulled away in collect­ing the Saturday win, with Jeremy Keller, Dylan Goplen and Dahl next across the stripe. Arneson caught Marcus Tomlinson for the lead early in the opening night show, then pulled away as Tomlinson started to fall into the clutches of Dahl and Hagen. Dahl passed Tomlinson, bringing Hagen with him. Hagen grabbed the second position with 10 laps to go and began reeling in Arneson as the leader dealt with lapped traffic. Arneson ultimately used that traffic to his advantage, however, holding off Hagen for his first feature vic­tory at Mandan.
