BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 8, 2025) — Tripp Gaylord started the 31-lap, 31st annual Night of 1000 Stars IMCA Modified main at Hancock County Speedway — paying $2,000 to win — on the outside of row four. The event also served as the fourth race of the 2025 Iowa Speedweek. Gaylord steadily marched his way to the front, settling in behind early race leader Brandon Beckendorf.
The top two swapped first and second several times until Gaylord assumed command in the later stages. Their run through lapped traffic got intense, but Gaylord held on to take the checkers for his second Night of 1000 Stars win, his first coming in 2021. Beckendorf finished second, followed by Cody Laney, Clint Hatlestad, and Kelly Shryock.
The victory was Gaylord’s seventh of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region and his first in 2025 at Britt.
Shryock Prevails in Stock Car Battle
In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Kelly Shryock started on the front row and built a sizable lead early. Multiple cautions in the second half of the race kept the field tight, and Shryock was unable to shake Heath Tulp and Troy Swearingen. The three remained close through the late-race restarts and crossed the finish line in that order.
The win was Shryock’s 17th of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and his fifth in a Stock Car at Hancock County.
Fett Flies to SportMod Victory
Alec Fett brought out the backup car for another go at Britt and charged from eighth to first to win in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. Once he got past his father, Drew, early in the race, Alec was largely untouched the rest of the way. Dustin West ran strong for second ahead of Drew Fett. It was Fett’s second triumph at Britt this season and his sixth overall win of 2025.
Probst Powers to Hobby Stock Win
The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks saw Cory Probst charge from the 11th starting position to victory. Probst, who also won during the Hobby Stock Clash of the Titans night at Britt, bested Joshua Monson and Dan Hanselman for the win.
This was Probst’s 28th victory of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region and his second 2025 win at Hancock County.
Saturday night’s scheduled conclusion to the Night of 1000 Stars was unfortunately washed out, bringing the season at Britt to an early close.
The event was streamed live on IMCA TV. Watch the replay with a monthly Replay Subscription for just $24.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, now streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
