ANTIOCH, Calif. (Jun. 28, 2025) — Troy Foulger of Oakley won the 20-lap Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. The $1,000 payday came as part of the 10th annual Jerry Hetrick Memorial and marked Foulger’s third career win in the event. It was also his second IMCA Modified victory of the season at the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds track, his fifth Shaw Race Cars Western Region triumph of 2025, and his 80th combined career win at the speedway.

Looking to repeat as the winner, Andrew Pearce set the early pace ahead of Foulger, but a yellow flag waved for Tyler Browne of Antioch on lap 2. Pearce maintained the lead on the restart with Foulger and Bobby Hogge IV in pursuit. The front two began to pull away from the pack until Foulger made an outside pass on the frontstretch on lap 6 to take over the top spot.

A caution flew on lap 8 for Jacob Mallet Jr., bunching the field again. Foulger resumed the lead with Hogge slipping past Pearce for second. Eric Berendsen of Antioch brought out the final yellow on lap 12. On the restart, Foulger led Hogge and Pearce, but Pearce reclaimed second with a low pass in turn 4 on lap 15. Foulger had already begun to stretch his advantage and went on to win ahead of Hogge and Pearce.

Ryan Rolls to SportMod Victory in Traffic

Jason Ryan Jr. of Oakley picked up the win in the 20-lap Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature. It was his first win of the season at Antioch and his fourth overall in 2025—each coming at a different California track—as he continues his pursuit of a state title.

Ryan started on the front row and charged ahead of point leader Kenny Shrader at the green flag. Fred Ryland slotted into third early while California State points leader Danny Wagner made it a four-car battle at the front by halfway.

As the leaders caught slower traffic, Ryan timed his moves perfectly to keep Shrader behind him. The race’s only yellow flag flew on lap 14 when Mark Garner and Joseph Pato tangled exiting turn two. Ryan maintained the lead on the restart and began to pull away over the final few laps. Shrader held off Wagner for second.

Enos Breaks Through for First Stock Car Win

Mitch Enos of Manteca drove to his first career Sunoco IMCA Stock Car win in the 20-lap main event, making a late-race move to get past longtime frontrunner Dan Gonderman.

Gonderman, who started on the front row, led the early circuits with Enos and Mitch Machado running close behind. Although Gonderman created some breathing room, Enos stayed steady and began to reel him in by lap 9. A yellow flew two laps later when Nick Caughman Jr. spun in turn four.

On the restart, Gonderman again led with Enos second, but Fred Ryland—doing double duty—made a bold outside pass on the frontstretch to claim third on lap 12. Enos continued to pressure the leader before slipping underneath Gonderman exiting turn four on lap 16 to take the lead for good.

Enos went unchallenged the rest of the way, scoring the win ahead of Gonderman and Ryland.
