CALHAN, Colo. (June 21, 2025) — Kody Welsh dominated the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature from the pole at El Paso County Raceway. Despite a stout field, Welsh led every lap to collect his first win of the season. It was also the first win of 2025 for the Colorado Springs driver. Coming from ninth, Scott Clay carved his way through traffic to finish second, followed by Barry Halley in third.

Yutterman Rises Through Hobby Stock Field

Rocky Ford’s Justin Yutterman charged from the eighth starting position to score an impressive win in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. It marked Yutterman’s first victory of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Chad Nelson crossed the line in second, holding off a late charge from Jacob Worthington, who completed the podium in third.

O’Lear Holds Steady for Sport Compact Win

In the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact division, Leann O’Lear of Boone started fourth and drove a clean, calculated race to take home her third win of the season at ECRP. The Lady Eagle racer held off Sean Frank, who finished second, while early leader Melanie Robinson came home third.

Reid Runs Strong from the Pole to Conquer Stock Cars

Phil Reid of Greeley led flag-to-flag in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car main event. Starting from the pole, he held off a determined Hunter Harvey to secure his second win of the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region — both coming at El Paso County. Brian Lessig rounded out the top three.

Blurton wins first of 2018 with URSS In Colorado

CALHAN, Colo. (June 23) – Zach Blurton won his first feature of the year with the United Rebel Sprint Series as he bested a 19-car field at El Paso County Raceway. Nick Haygood and Brian Herbert brought the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car field to the green with Herbert getting the jump on the initial start only to have it negated by a couple cars tangling in turn on. On the ensuing restart, Haygood jumped into the lead and held Herbert at bay for the first three laps before Herbert made his move to take over the number one spot. Herbert’s lead only lasted two laps before Haygood regained the front spot, only to get high a lap later, allowing Herbert back by and falling to sixth. In the meantime, the ninth starting Blurton was moving his way up through the field and was third by lap seven and took over second on lap nine. Munoz hustles from 20th to checkers at El Paso Co. IMCA Stock Car Showdown

CALHAN, Colo. (July 22, 2022) – He isn’t a fan of bullrings but Angel Munoz sure knows how to get around them in a hurry. Munoz started 20th and raced his way to the front of the Colorado IMCA Sunoco Stock Car Showdown field at El Paso County Raceway, earning $2,000 for the Friday night feature win at Calhan. “I’m not a big fan of bullrings but we do good at ‘em,” said Munoz, more partial to the big tracks of western Kansas. “I’d only raced here once before, in 2016, and we won $1,000 that night.” He’d won his heat but was disqualified when post-race tech found the right rear shock measurement off by a quarter of an inch. “I’d changed a spring right before the heat and didn’t compensate. (Jun. 25, 2025) — The second annual Joey Hergott Memorial at Beatrice Speedway is set for Monday, July 14, and will once again feature one of the most lucrative single-night payouts for Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars. With a unique two-stage feature format, the main event offers $3,000 to win each 22-lap stage, with a potential for $10,000 in total winnings, including bonus money. The format will include heat races and B-Mains to set the stage for a 24-car feature. Stage one will consist of 22 laps and pay $3,000 to the winner. After a three-minute break to allow teams to make adjustments, stage two begins. $10,000 Stock Car Top Prize on the Line at 141 Speedway’s King of the Creek

(Jun. 25, 2025) — One of the biggest paydays of the summer for the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars returns to 141 Speedway as the 8th Annual King of the Creek presented by Appleton Camping Center roars into Francis Creek on July 15 and 16. Just like the Clash at the Creek held in June, a revamped format returns for this year’s King of the Creek, headlined by a $10,000-to-win finale on Wednesday night, which also serves as a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifier. The marquee program features Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars battling for a $10,111 winner’s check and $311 to start. Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks will race for a $3,111 payday, with $211 awarded to each feature starter. The Stock Car winner will earn a guaranteed starting spot in the upcoming B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational. National, regional, and Nebraska State points will be awarded in both divisions.
