BRITT, Iowa (Jun. 6, 2025) — Kelly Shryock doubled up at Hancock County Speedway on Friday night, winning both the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified and Sunoco IMCA Stock Car features. Following a dominant two-win performance during the Summer Nationals at Spencer, Shryock remained red-hot.
In the Stock Car feature, Shryock capitalized on a mid-race caution to power to the front and never looked back. While he controlled the second half of the race, the action behind him was intense as Troy Jerovetz, Parker Slagle, and Justin Ades battled fiercely for position. Jerovetz prevailed in that fight to finish second, followed by Slagle in third. The win was Shryock’s sixth of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region.
Shryock Sails to Modified Win
Shryock started seventh in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified main and methodically worked his way forward on the low side of the racetrack. Jerry Flippo found momentum on the top groove and closed in until Shryock adjusted his line to match. Two late-race cautions tested Shryock’s composure, but he held on for the victory—his second of the year in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Jeremy Mills used the cautions to his advantage and made a late charge to finish second, with Flippo crossing the line third.
Tachney Earns Long-Awaited First SportMod Victory
Six years of persistence paid off for Jacob Tachney, who scored his first career Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod win Friday night. Tachney discovered the fast groove on the bottom before anyone else and used it to perfection. He outpaced Alec Fett and seven-time national champion Matt Looft to finally break into victory lane.
Nielsen Nabs Hobby Stock Feature with Late-Race Heroics
Josh Sidles led most of the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock main, but a pair of late cautions bunched the field and set the stage for drama. While Sidles searched for the fastest line to defend his lead, Brandon Nielsen committed to the high side and rocketed to the front in the closing laps. Nielsen collected his second straight win and third of the season in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region. Sidles finished second, with Jade Lange taking third.
