COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa (Jun. 6, 2025) — Shane Richardson scored his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season in the ultra-competitive Sunoco IMCA Stock Car division at CJ Speedway.
Leremy Jackson led the opening laps before Wapello’s Richardson powered his way to the front from a second-row starting spot. Once in command, he had to withstand relentless pressure from Eastern Iowa standout and defending track champion John Oliver Jr. Oliver tested every line on the smooth 4/10-mile oval but couldn’t find a way around the strong-running Richardson. Dustin Griffiths came from 10th to finish third.
Gorden Grabs First-Ever Hobby Stock Victory
Keaton Gorden broke through for his first career win at CJ Speedway in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks. The Ottumwa driver joined a fierce three-wide battle for the lead that included Jason Schutterle and Tucker Richardson.
The trio thrilled fans with multiple side-by-side exchanges, but Gorden emerged out front and never looked back. He captured his first-ever win in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, with Tucker Richardson finishing second and Schutterle third.
Anderson Rides the Rim to Third Modified Win at CJ
Logan Anderson put “Little Herbie” back in CJ Speedway victory lane Friday night, winning a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature for the third time in 2025.
Anderson, from Eddyville, found the high side to his liking and rolled to the win over last week’s victor Shane Paris. Multi-time CJ winner Kurt Kile completed the podium. The triumph was Anderson’s seventh of the year in the Razor Chassis North Central Region.
Van Wyk Extends CJ Streak With SportMod Win
Dylan Van Wyk added another notch to his stellar 2025 campaign, capturing the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature with a commanding performance.
Van Wyk, also from Oskaloosa, started ninth and worked his way forward through the field. A classic battle developed between him and fellow Osky driver Cole Van Der Wal, with the duo trading slide jobs and crossover moves in a thrilling sequence.
Van Wyk grabbed the lead on lap nine and steadily pulled away, securing his 11th win of the season and fifth at CJ. Van Der Wal held on for second while Tyler Heckart ran third.
