MAQUOKETA, Iowa (May 31, 2025) — A beautiful night greeted race fans at Maquoketa Speedway, where the ¼-mile oval produced thrilling action across all five IMCA-sanctioned divisions — including tight finishes and a memorable first-time winner in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods.
Patric Conner led early in what turned out to be the race of the night, but multiple challengers kept him in striking distance throughout the 17-car main event. The closing laps featured a three-way scrap with Levi Heath and Jarrett Franzen, building to a dramatic, near-dead heat at the white flag.
Conner stuck to the high line, Heath rolled the bottom, and at the stripe it was Conner — by just .061 seconds — scoring his long-awaited first career feature win. Heath settled for a narrow second, with Franzen right behind in third.
Graduation Day Glory for Late Model Pilot Bodin
It was a day to remember for Jesse Bodin of Silvis, Illinois. After walking the stage for his high school graduation earlier in the day, Bodin led all 25 laps of the Sunoco IMCA Late Model feature for a storybook ending. The high-side masterclass earned Bodin a flag-to-flag win ahead of Don Pataska and Jake Morris, who rallied from row three to finish third.
Paris Pounces Late to Win Modified Main
Jaden Fryer looked poised for back-to-back Friesen Performance IMCA Modified wins after taking the lead on lap 10 from Brandon Jewell, but Shane Paris had other plans. Paris, who started further back, mounted a last-lap charge that saw him pull even with Fryer at the white flag.
The two raced side-by-side to the line, where Paris edged ahead by feet for his second Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season in IMCA Modified competition. Eric Barnes ran in the lead pack all night and came home third.
Neal Breaks Through in First Stock Car Victory of 2025
Gage Neal of Anamosa powered from a fourth-row start to claim his first win of 2025 in Sunoco IMCA Stock Car action under the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region banner. Using multiple grooves, Neal worked past traffic and took control late. Andrew Burk advanced from the sixth row to grab second, with Kodey Miles taking third.
Vohringer Brothers Shine in Memorable Hobby Stock Finish
A 23-car field brought the night to a strong close in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock division, as Kile Vohringer scored his second straight win in B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region action. In a career milestone moment, his brother Lane Vohringer charged from mid-pack to finish second, marking the first one-two finish for the siblings. Kodey Miles placed third.
The night’s action was broadcast live on IMCA.TV affiliate Done Right TV. Fans can relive the full event with an IMCA.TV Replay Subscription, available for just $24.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, now streaming exclusively on IMCA.TV.
