SHAWANO, Wis. (May 24, 2025) — Hometown driver Tommy Rindt earned his first win of the season in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods at Shawano Speedway, thrilling the local crowd with a strong restart and clean drive to the checkers.
Outside pole sitter Bryce Clements rocketed to the lead at the drop of the green and looked like the car to beat in the early going. Michael Springborn followed close behind with plenty of company in tow. But Rindt, wheeling his way through the pack, caught fire mid-race and began closing in.
As the laps ticked away, Tommy Rindt engaged in a heated battle with the 81 machine of AJ Springborn, the two trading moves in a tight race for the lead. Contact between the pair brought out a caution that reset the field with just a few laps remaining. Rindt took full advantage on the restart and led the rest of the way to score the win. Bryce Clements battled back to finish second, while ninth-starting Dustin Wudstrack navigated through the chaos to take third.

Michonski Prevails in Stock Car Showdown for First EQ Region Win
The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars lived up to their billing as the “Class Too Tough to Tame,” with Embarrass’s Nate Michonski capturing his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season.
Sawyer Frederick led the field to green, but it was Vern Stedjee in the 35 car who powered out of turn two with the early lead. Stedjee held strong up front through the early laps, while plenty of action brewed deeper in the field.
The Michonski brothers—Nate and Dan—worked their way to the front by the halfway mark and settled into a fierce family battle for the lead. A late caution gave Nate the opportunity he needed, and he capitalized on the restart to take control. He held off Dan in the closing laps to secure the win on a fast-paced night. Kyle Frederick advanced six positions to finish third.

Janke Laps into the Top Five En Route to Second Shawano Modified Victory
The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds had a rough go of it early, with three tries needed to get the race underway and a few competitors dropping out before the green stuck. But once the race settled in, Tanner Janke put the hammer down.
The New London pilot quickly distanced himself from the field and never looked back, lapping up to the fifth-place finisher by the time the checkers waved. It was Janke’s second Shawano Speedway win of the season and his second in Razor Chassis North Central Region competition.
Behind him, Lucas Lamberies and Jayden Schmidt continued their friendly scrap for second, with Lamberies getting the edge.
