ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 24, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds provided a thrilling main event at Arlington Raceway, with multiple cautions and challenges keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Chad Porter jumped out to an early lead and set the pace through the opening laps. But when a caution flew on lap six, Porter was among those who had trouble navigating traffic, opening the door for Clint Hatlestad.

Hatlestad seized the opportunity and took over the lead after the restart. Another caution on lap nine tightened the pack once more, but the Glencoe driver remained strong up front. Trent Loverude applied heavy pressure late, drawing to Hatlestad’s rear bumper just before another caution bunched the field for one final sprint.

Hatlestad nailed the last restart and never looked back, scoring his first win of the 2025 campaign at Arlington and in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Loverude settled for second, with Porter rounding out the podium.

Mackenthun Masters Bottom Lane for Stock Car Victory

Dan Mackenthun worked his way through a strong Sunoco IMCA Stock Car field to claim his third win of the season in EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region competition. The Hamburg hotshoe started 10th but wasted little time charging forward, eventually overtaking early leader A.J. Zimmerman on lap six with a textbook move around the inside groove.

Daniel Eckblad gave chase, trying to mount a comeback in the closing laps, but Mackenthun proved too strong. Tim Pessek made a late push to beat David Moriarty to the line for third. The win was Mackenthun’s second at Arlington in 2025.

Brett Allen Breaks Through in Sprint Car Showdown

Brett Allen came roaring out of the second row at the drop of the green in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature and never looked back. He took command early and survived a mid-race caution on lap 11 that briefly brought the field back to his tail tank.

Contender Trevor Serbus had looked strong before mechanical woes ended his night early. That left Allen to deal with Matt Johnson and Bill Johnson on the restart, and Allen proved uncatchable to earn his first win of the season at Arlington.

Jeff Lloyd Claims First SportMod Win in Years

Veteran Jeff Lloyd got back to victory lane in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, holding off a determined Jeff Carter in a caution-marred feature. Carter led the opening laps before Lloyd reeled him in and made the pass on lap nine.

Carter stayed within striking distance, but Lloyd’s smooth lines and consistent laps kept him out front to the checkers. Matthew Looft worked his way to third in a competitive showing.

Probst Powers to Seventh Hobby Stock Win

Cory Probst continued his dominance in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region, picking up his seventh win of the season, but first at Arlington in 2025, with a stellar run in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. The Brewster driver came from 10th to first, passing early leader Tyler Domeier on lap seven.

A caution with five laps to go briefly slowed Probst’s pace, but he quickly rebuilt his advantage on the restart. Domeier suffered mechanical issues late, allowing Ben Davis and Taylor Manderfield to round out the top three.

Schelitzsche Scores First Sport Compact Victory

It was a night to remember for Justin Schelitzsche, who claimed his first-ever win in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. After taking the lead from Alan Lahr just before a red flag incident on lap five, Schelitzsche maintained control on the restart and never gave it up.

Newcomer Brandon Hartmann finished second, while Dale Gatton took third. The night was marred by a flip involving Terry Gatton, who was uninjured but done for the night.
