MINOT, N.D. (May 4, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars thrilled fans Sunday night at Nodak Speedway, the 3/8-mile oval located at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. Former Williston Basin champion Chris Tuchscherer led early until a lap 6 caution reset the field at the “Playground of Power” and opened the door for a challenge. That opportunity came from Minot’s own Brock Beeter, a three-time North Dakota State Hobby Stock champion and 2023 Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod track titlist.
Beeter rolled the inside to perfection and edged ahead of Tuchscherer on lap 7. A late caution erased his sizeable lead, but Beeter nailed the restart and held strong to the checkers for his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season.
Tuchscherer held off two-time defending track champ Will Scheresky for second after a long battle. Gabe Deschamp slipped by Scheresky at the line to claim third.
Wolla Rallies Late for Nodak Modified Victory
The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds also brought the crowd to their feet with a thrilling finish to cap Sunday’s action. Drew Christianson, the 2014 track champion, controlled the early pace, while Steven Pfeifer and Jason Wolla gave chase. A caution after two laps allowed Pfeifer — a two-time track titlist — to challenge for the lead, as Wolla gained ground from seventh on the grid.
Pfeifer reeled in Christianson around lap 14 but couldn’t quite make the pass, and Wolla took advantage. Running the cushion with precision, the 2017 National champion surged into contention during the closing circuits.
On lap 22, Wolla made his move, carrying momentum off the top of turns three and four to edge ahead of Christianson at the line. He pulled away from there for his second Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the season — and first at Nodak in 2025. Pfeifer secured second, with Christianson completing the podium.

Goodwin Gets First Career Nodak SportMod Victory
Tim Goodwin powered around Dirk Miller on lap 3 to take command of the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod feature. The Williston driver opened up a healthy margin while Stan Tomlinson, a former McLean County and Southwest Speedway champ, gave chase from second.
A late caution set up a green-white-checkered finish, but Goodwin never flinched. He drove away on the restart while Taylor Stenvold slipped past Tomlinson for second. Goodwin’s win was his first of the 2025 season and first-ever at Nodak Speedway. Stenvold and Tomlinson completed the podium.
Appelt Dominates Hobby Stocks for Second Nodak Win
Caden Appelt made quick work of the field in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature, charging from third to first on lap one and pulling away. A caution on lap 3 brought the pack to his bumper, but the defending McLean County Speedway champion was untouchable on the restart.
Diezel Raynard and Trever Haas battled behind him, but Appelt — from Minot — claimed his second B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season in just three Nodak starts. Haas was second, followed by Raynard in third.
