30-year sponsor AFCO renews awards in six IMCA divisions

BOONVILLE, Ind. (April 29, 2023) – AFCO marks a 30th consecutive season of IMCA support in 2023, continuing an awards program for competitors in six divisions.

The high performance shock, suspension, cooling and brake products manufacturer is a division of the AFCO Performance Group and IMCA’s fourth longest tenured marketing partner.

AFCO awards will again be given based on regional point standings for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, and on national standings for IMCA Sunoco Late Models, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods.

“AFCO is honored to mark its 30th year supporting IMCA racing. We are thrilled to be a part of the long-standing tradition with this outstanding group,” said Kerri Hart, marketing director for the AFCO Performance Group. “We look forward to awarding IMCA racers with various awards, such as GM replacement frame kits, shocks, radiators, and product certificates. We hope every IMCA racer has a remarkable season!”

Top three drivers in each of the five Modified regions receive product certificates valued at $250, $150 and $50, respectively, while certificates good for $200, $100 and $50 go to top three drivers in both Stock Car regions.

Top three eligible drivers in the two Hobby Stock regions and in national standings for both Northern and Southern SportMod divisions earn product certificates redeemable for $125, $75 and $50.

The rookie of the year and fourth, sixth and 11th place finishers in national Late Model point standings receive $100 product certificates.

And the Modified national champion and rookie of the year receive GM frame replacement kits.

Those awards will be presented during the IMCA national banquet in November.

The highest finishing drivers in Modified, Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod main events competing with AFCO shocks at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s all receive four shocks. The Hobby Stock champion gets a set of four springs and the Late Model champion receives a double pass radiator.

A GM frame replacement kit also goes to the hard luck Modified driver who is the first to roll their car while competing at Super Nationals.

“Motorsports partnerships that continue for 30 years and benefit so many drivers are rare indeed,” said IMCA Marketing Integration and Sponsorship Director Carson Becker-Gramm. “It’s been our privilege to work with a lot of outstanding people at AFCO and we look forward to building on that relationship another 30 years.”
