IMCA Wild West Shootout introduces #StephanieStrong hard charger award

#StephanieStrong awards will be given in memory of Stephanie Deatherage to hard chargers in all IMCA divisions each night of the Wild West Shootout.

WHITE CITY, Ore. (June 10, 2022) – 2022 will see several new additions to the IMCA Wild West Shootout. In addition to the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will join the card. The Stock Cars will race every race on tour except for the last round. 

Something also new will be the introduction of the #StephanieStrong Hard Charger Award. Every night, the driver in each division that passes the most cars based on their original starting position will receive the decoration. All ties will be broken by the driver that started the furthest back in the field. 

The creation of the award is in memory of the late Stephanie Deatherage, who tragically passed away last September. Stephanie was a significant fixture during the IMCA Wild West Shootout from washing drivers’ suits, helping calculate points, taking pictures or supporting her husband Ben with announcing.  

Each night, if there are enough sponsors, each driver in each division who is eligible for the award will receive $100. For $300, you can sponsor the whole night for three hard charger awards, or for $100, you can sponsor one hard charger award for just one night. If anyone would like to help contribute to the award would gladly be accepted by simply messaging the IMCA Wild West Shootout Facebook page.  

All sponsors or donators will receive mentions of their business over the PA system and on the nationwide broadcast on IMCA.TV. All money will go directly to the drivers, and any additional money raised is planned to go to a fund where the overall driver, across the three divisions, who passes the most cars throughout the series.
