Abilene forecast: sunny, warm and 100% chance of great racing

ABILENE, Texas (2/17/22) – The weatherman says it’s go-time at Abilene Speedway.

With a forecast that calls for sunny skies, warm temperatures in the 60s, and a 0 percent chance of rain, the first Texas green flag of the 2022 racing season is set to wave this weekend in Abilene at the IMCA.TV Ice Breaker.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars headline the Feb. 18-19 Ice Breaker as they compete for $750-to-win Friday night and a $3,000 winner’s share Saturday. Both Stock Car winners at Abilene become eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.

IMCA Modifieds compete for $700 to win on opening night and $1,000, plus Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility, on Saturday.

Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods race for $600 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts for $250 to win both nights.
