Winning Sunday IMCA Stock Car feature is worth $1,000 at Worthington Speedway

WORTHINGTON, Minn. – The loyal contingent of IMCA drivers locally and from across a three-state area have a new Saturday venue in Worthington Speedway this season. Five sanctioned divisions fill 14 weekly race programs beginning May 22, with the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season continuing through Aug. 28. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts all return to the quarter-mile black dirt oval, located in the south­west corner of Minnesota. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both race for $1,000 top prizes Sunday, June 26 at Minnesota’s Worthington Speedway; and at Iowa venues Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer on Monday, June 27; Buena Vista Raceway in Alta on Tuesday, June 28; Shelby County Speedway in Harlan on Wednesday, June 29; and at Stuart Speedway on Thursday, June 30. READING, Minn. (May 27, 2023) – The perfect night and the perfect track provided the perfect setting for Jeffrey Larson’s 100th IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win. Larson led the last lap and a half of the opening night feature Saturday at Worthington Speedway, racing virtually side-by-side with Luke Sathoff coming to the white flag and telling himself “Don’t mess this up” the rest of the way. “We were just trying our best to get the win was all. The track was good, we had a good car and we were just hoping we could get there,” said Larson, from Reading. “It was pretty cool to get this win and share it with Warfare Motorsports.
