Great forecasts for weather, record-setting racing during week of IMCA Super Nationals

BOONE, Iowa – The weather forecast for the week? Perfect.

The forecast for great racing during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s ? Even better, as a record 924 pre-entries are now in hand from 27 states and Canada

Plenty of sun, temperatures in the low 80s during the day and high 50s overnight are in the forecast for both days of the Sept. 4-5 Prelude as well as the entire week of Super Nationals Sept. 6-11 at Boone Speedway.

Pre-entries for America’s Racin’ Vacation now include 235 Modifieds, 221 Stock Cars, 182 Northern SportMods, 139 Hobby Stocks, 82 Sport Compacts and 53 STARS Mod Lites. Late Models are not required to pre-register as part of the former Deery Brothers Summer Series structure. 

Those cars make the trek to Boone from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin, as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia.

Twenty-two states and B.C. are represented by the Modified entries.

Stock Cars come from 20 states, Northern SportMods from 15, Hobby Stocks from 13 and Sport Compacts from 11. 

STARS Mod Lites make their debut during the Prelude with entries from eight states.

Salute to Veterans win at home track Boone is a pretty big deal for McBirnie

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (July 30, 2022) – It was a pretty big deal when Jake McBirnie won Saturday’s rescheduled Hunting With Heroes Salute to Veterans feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Boone Speedway.  And the money wasn’t the biggest reason. McBirnie was fast from the get-go in this one, never really being challenged and winning the 25-lapper going away. Jeremy Mills started 10th and finished a distant second, followed by ninth starting Mike VanGenderen, Cory Sauerman and Chris Snyder. “This was a pretty big deal, getting $5,000 to put back into your program this late in the season,” said McBirnie already eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “It was very special when I was asked to put a veterans’ wrap on my car. Everett, Cassell, Wauge earn Fast Shafts All-Star eligibility

VINTON, Iowa (Aug. 31, 2022) – Three more Friesen Performance IMCA Modified drivers have raced their way to Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Dallas Everett prevailed at Central Arkansas Motor Speedway’s Johnny Wise Memorial. Craig Cassell topped Sunset Speedway’s Doug Walters Classic and Mark Wauge was the Saturday winner at Southern Oregon Speedway. Winners of qualifying events already eligible were Austen Becerra, Tom Berry Jr., Jerry Flippo, Bricen James, Austin Kiefer, Jake Nightingale, Collin Thirlby and Nick Trenchard. Remaining qualifying events include Marshalltown Speedway’s Sept. 2 Showdown at Motown, both nights of the Mighty Axe at North Central Speedway and the Labor Day Clash at Mohave Valley Raceway, the Saturday Prelude at Boone Speedway and East Moline’s Fallen Heroes show on Sunday. Alvarado claims season opener at Boone

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (April 13, 2024) – Boone Speedway began its regular weekly series of racing on Saturday, marking the 57th consecutive year at Iowa’s Action Track.  Out-of-state drivers claimed two of the opening points night victories, Colorado’s Ricky Alvarado in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Riley Clem, who hails from California, in the Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lites.  A veteran racer in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Kevin Opheim found victory lane as did Cam Reimers in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods while Mike Smith continues to amaze in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. One hundred and fifty-two racers checked in for the fun filled night of racing.
