$10,000 Payday Awaits SportMods at Captain of the Creek at 141

By Ben Deatherage FRANCIS CREEK, Wis. (Aug. 1, 2025) — 141 Speedway again takes center stage as the Captain of the Creek presented by East Central Coin returns August 12 and 13, offering Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod drivers a shot at a $10,000 payday in Wednesday night’s championship feature. Like the Clash at the Creek and the Stock Car-based King of the Creek, this SportMod-focused event uses a revamped format and awards valuable Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National and Wisconsin State points. Drivers will qualify through a full Tuesday night program with heat races and split qualifying features, each limited to 24 starters. Heat race lineups will be set by draw, and the top five finishers in each qualifying feature will lock into Wednesday’s $10,000-to-win main event. Those who come up short of a transfer spot will still have a chance to cash in with the Wednesday night Non-Qualifier feature, which pays $1,000 to win. Both nights will also feature Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars as part of the racing [Read More]

The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car special paid $5,000 to win, and Mackenthun racked up an additional $1,725 for leading 23 of the 30 laps, plus a $100 bonus for his heat race win. His dominant effort also locked him into the prestigious B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at this year’s Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. The triumph marked Mackenthun’s seventh of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region and his fourth at the Arlington ½-mile. A stout field of 36 Stock Cars battled for a share of the $30,000 purse. Jake McBirnie paced the opening seven laps before a caution gave Mackenthun the opportunity he needed. Starting fifth, Mackenthun had already climbed to second by lap one and wasted no time slipping past McBirnie on the ensuing restart. Another yellow came [Read More]
