Berry tops IMCA Modified feature at Durbin Memorial

STUART, Iowa (June 24) – Tom Berry Jr. turned away all challengers and went home with both the IMCA Modified feature win and a $1,000 check from Stuart Speedway’s Jake Durbin Memorial.

Dylan Thornton and Jordy Nelson were on the front row for Wednesday’s main event. Nelson led early with Todd Shute waiting in the wings. A lap six caution slowed the field and when flagman Jamie Schirm waved the green it was Berry powering to the lead with Richie Gustin in tow.

Berry had some challenges but stayed tough out front as he went on to the win.

Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, Berry crossed the stripe ahead of Gustin with Cayden Carter third. Tim Ward was fourth and Shute fifth.

Buck Schafroth cruised to the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers ahead of Dallon Murty and Damon Murty. Chuck Madden Jr. sailed to the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock win with Dylan Nelson second with Brandon Cox third. 

Brian Osantowski made his move to the front of the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod field with two circuits to go and was chased to the checkers by Brayton Carter and Dusty Masolini. 

Owen Richards led the distance of the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event. Hunter Patrick and Tyler Fiebelkorn rounded out the top three.

One hundred and six cars packed the pits for the second annual Durbin Memorial. next Thursday is the 21st annual Ron Little Memorial/Midwest Madness Tour event.

Sabin starts Stuart show with IMCA Sport Compact win

By Josh Reynolds                                                            STUART, Iowa (May 26) – Wednesday night brought 100 race cars and drivers to Stuart Speedway for IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing and feature winners for the night were Kolby Sabin, Brayton Carter, Dallon Murty, Tim Ward and Brandon Cox. First up were the Mach-1 Sport Compacts with Owen Richards and Mark Smith on the front row. Smith led the majority of the race but it was Sabin taking the lead coming to the white flag and driving off to the win. Roberts dominates Bill Davis Memorial at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, IA (May 5) – The Bill Davis Memorial and a pair of make-up features highlighted Wednesday night action at Stuart Speedway. Nick Roberts and Scott Bash started on the front row of the IMCA Modified feature. Roberts led early with Josh Gilman powering into second on lap three.  Gilman worked high and low but it was not to be as Roberts took the dominating win.  Gilman tangled with a lapped car on the final lap giving second place to Bash. Third was Kyle Brown with Shane DeVolder fourth and David Brown fifth. Dallon and Damon Murty led the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars to the green flag with Dallon taking the lead on lap one. Dallon would work the bottom side of the track with Damon up top.  A few cautions bunched the field and Dallon would hold off the challengers to take the win. Shute dominates Ron Little Memorial on record night at Stuart

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (July 2) – Todd Shute was in command from start to finish, during a record setting Ron Little Memorial at Stuart Speedway. Shute led all 35 laps of the IMCA Modified feature, working through lapped traffic before a late restart. He held off Cayden Carter in the final circuits for the $2,055 payday. Tom Berry Jr., Jeff Aikey and Nick Roberts completed the top five. Shute and Cory Sauerman were up front for the start of the 21st annual event. Shute took com­mand early with Roberts and Ethan Braaksma in tow, then dominated through lapped traffic until a caution brought the field to a halt with six laps to go.  Carter and Aikey traded sliders but it was Shute leading all the way to the finish to take the win.
