Diercks and Dierks Win on Separate Nights in Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds

By Jerry Mackey TIPTON, Iowa (July 26, 2025) — Friday night’s Gary Reinhart Memorial feature at Cedar County Raceway for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds drew 27 entries for the $2,000-to-win main event. Spencer Diercks of Davenport charged through the field from his 10th starting position and took the lead on lap 16. Diercks hit his marks lap after lap to outdistance a stellar field and secure his ninth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season. Izac Mallicoat crossed the stripe in second while Joel Rust completed the podium. Saturday’s Modified main belonged to Brad Dierks, who started up front and led the entire distance of the 20-car feature. The win marked Dierks’ second of the year in the North Central Region. Jeff Larson chased him all the way to the checkers but had to settle for second. Friday winner Spencer Diercks came home third. Oliver and Reynolds Star in Stock Car Action John Oliver Jr. made a thrilling late-race move to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature on Friday night. After starting [Read More]

Young Lasso’s Sprint Car Field at Winchester

By Jim Haines WINCHESTER, Va. (July 26, 2025) – Drew Young spent years on the rodeo circuit, but on Saturday night, it was horsepower of a different kind that he wrangled. The former rodeo cowboy turned racer put a lasso on the field at Winchester Speedway, scoring his first RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car victory of the season in Virginia Sprint Series competition. The event was co-sanctioned with the Laurel Highlands and PASS Sprint Series under hot and humid skies at the Northern Virginia clay oval. Young and Matthew Leach brought the field to green in the main event. Young shot to the front early, with Leach dropping into second while Ryan Lynn, A.J. Barton, and Landon Price followed closely behind. The laps clicked by quickly as Young found a rhythm and held Leach at bay until a stalled car brought out a quick yellow to bunch the field back up. On the restart, Young returned to his groove and kept the field behind him, lap after lap. A second yellow for a spin set up a [Read More]

Southern SportMod Super Nationals Set for Kennedale Speedway Park on September 4–6

By Ben Deatherage KENNEDALE, Texas (July 29, 2025) — The IMCA Southern SportMod Super Nationals return to Kennedale Speedway Park on September 4–6, with three full nights of racing and more than $25,000 in total purse money. Now in its fourth year at KSP, the Southern SportMod-exclusive event has become a premier destination for top-tier talent in the division from across the region. The road to the Super Nationals begins with the Prelude presented by Mike Frieri on Friday, August 9, an event paying $2,000 to win and $125 to start. While held nearly a month before the main event, the Prelude offers drivers a key opportunity to qualify for the All-Star portion of Super Nationals week. There is no online registration – competitors simply need their 2025 KSP season registration pay card and must pay a $30 draw fee at check-in. Drivers who either compete in the Prelude or have won a 2025 IMCA-sanctioned Southern SportMod feature will be eligible for the All-Star qualifying heats on Thursday, September 4. The top 20 finishers will lock [Read More]
