James Conquers Wild West Coast Modified Clash Finale at Grays Harbor

(May 24, 2026) — Bricen James made a late Saturday night decision to tow north to Grays Harbor Raceway pay off in a big way, capturing the 7th annual West Coast Modified Clash finale and the $2,500 top prize in Sunday’s Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature. After one of the wildest B Main finishes of the weekend, 24 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds rolled onto the 3/8-mile clay oval for the Memorial Day weekend finale. The initial start was called back after an incident deeper in the field. On the second attempt, Saturday winner and polesitter Grey Ferrando tangled with Collen Winebarger entering turn one, sending Ferrando spinning and forcing him to restart at the rear of the field. Cassell Sweeps Spring Challenge Weekend at Sunset Speedway Park

(May 24, 2026) — Craig Cassell put together a dominant weekend during the Spring Challenge at Sunset Speedway Park, sweeping both Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature events. Cassell, from Albany, took command of Saturday’s 30-lap feature after getting around early leader Jake Walters just a few laps into the contest. From there, he held off several challenges from Joey Tardio and Sedro-Woolley, Washington racer Adam Holtrop to secure the victory. Walters held on for second while Holtrop finished third in his Sunset Speedway Park debut after also earning a dash victory earlier in the evening. Utah driver Kevin Smith crossed the line fourth while Tardio completed the top five aboard Greg Walters’ No. 97 machine. Sunday’s $1,000-to-win 35-lap finale featured a slightly larger field and a stout challenge from Kevin Smith, who led the opening half of the race after making the long haul west. Berry Banks $2,047 Modified Payday at Benton County Memorial Weekend Rumble

By Christine Rublack VINTON, Iowa (May 24, 2026) — Tom Berry Jr. made the most of his pole starting spot in the $2,047-to-win Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified on Sunday feature during the Memorial Weekend Rumble celebrating 47 years of IMCA Modified racing at Benton County Speedway, jumping to the lead at the drop of the green and controlling the pace throughout the main event. Tripp Gaylord settled into second early while battling Blaine Bryant as Cody Laney soon entered the mix. Berry began stretching his advantage before lapped traffic allowed Laney to close the gap late in the race. A caution tightened the field again and brought Ethan Braaksma and Rayce Mullen into contention inside the top five. Berry stayed flawless on the restart and drove away for his fifth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season at five different tracks.
