Park Jefferson Speedway sets IMCA Spring Nationals show for this weekend

JEFFERSON, S.D. – Kruse Motorsports, Inc. and Park Jefferson Speedway team up to bring IMCA racing action back with a two-day Spring Nationals show Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9.  

IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks run both nights, the Mach-1 Sport Compacts on Friday and the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars on Saturday. 

Each day will be a separate show with the draw/redraw format. Entries are limited and no IMCA points will be awarded.

Modifieds will vie for a $1,000 top prize each day in their Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifiers, Sprint Cars race for $600 to win, Stock Cars and SportMods each chase $500, Hobby Stocks going after $400 and Sport Compacts race for $200 to win. 

Thirty-two entries from each of the Modified, Stock Car, SportMod and Hobby Stock divisions, and 20 each of the Sprint Cars will be entered into the event. Links to registration are:

Entry fees will be $40 for Modifieds and $30 for all other divisions each night. Drivers may register for only one night if they choose.

Registration for entries through My Race Pass will close at 9 p.m. on May 6 and the draw will be done from Karl Performance at 6 p.m. on May 7 via Facebook live

For the grandstands, more information will be available within the next two days as the details are be­ing worked out. For those not able to attend, the event will be broadcast live on Speed Shift TV. 

Hot laps will be at 6:30 p.m. on both nights with racing action to follow. Pit passes are $30.

In following with Governor Noem’s announcement of the South Dakota Back To Normal Plan, outdoor venues and events can operate, the Park Jefferson Speedway is excited to bring the IMCA family of racers together for an exciting action packed weekend. Thornton strikes IMCA Modified gold at Park Jefferson’s J & J Fitting Iron Cup

JEFFERSON, S.D. (Aug. 8) – Ricky Thornton Jr. added his name to the list of J & J Fitting Iron Cup champions on Saturday night as the Adel, Iowa, driver invaded Park Jefferson Speedway and left with the famed IMCA Modified Iron Cup along with a $7,000 top prize. The 35-lap feature went green with Cody Laney and Lance Mari making up the front row.  The California-based Laney found the top groove to his liking and controlled the race through the mid-point. A Saturday of Sioux City winners at Park Jefferson

(May 7, 2022) – Buoyed by Cody Thompson claiming the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory to lead a top-four sweep, Sioux City was well-represented on the top finishers list on the Saturday, May 7, program at Park Jefferson International Speedway. Thompson led fellow Sioux Citians Bob Moore and R.J. Merchant and South Sioux City native Ricky Stephan among the local racers in the Modified main.  David Miller and Tyler Smith kept the theme going with a one-two River City finish in IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.The remaining victors for a beautiful early May evening were Devon McMartin, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods; Elijah Zevenbergen, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars; and Anthony Clark, Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts.  The Rushmore Racing Tour featuring the IMCA divisions is on the docket Saturday, May 14. IMCA Midwest Madness Tour primed for June 27-July 1 run

JEFFERSON, S.D. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars headline each night of the upcoming Midwest Madness Tour presented by Western Iowa Racing Results. Both divisions race for $1,000 to win, with Modified features being qualifiers for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and Stock Car features for the B & B chassis All-Star event, on Sunday, June 27 at Raceway Park in Jefferson, S.D; Monday, June 28 at Park Jefferson Speedway in Jefferson, S.D.; Tuesday, June 29 at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer, Iowa; Wednesday, June 30 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta, Iowa; and Thursday, July 1 at Stuart, Iowa, Speedway. Minimum start money is $150 for the Modifieds and $125 for the Stocks.
