Fain’s years of on-track testing lead to new Abilene Race Rads IMCA awards

ABILENE, Texas – Tommy Fain’s years of racing research and product development pay off this season for drivers in five IMCA divisions.

Fain, a long-time IMCA driver himself, is owner of new sponsor Abilene Race Rads, which gives $50 gift certificates to top five finishers at 80 designated specials for IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods.

Those certificates can be applied toward the purchase of a racing radiator or fan blade.

“The divisions that are part of this program fit our products best. We can service drivers’ cooling needs while rewarding current and new customers,” explained Fain. “I have done on-track research and development for a number of years and we have good, racer-friendly prices.”

Fain also sent Super Sucker 4-blade fans to distributors for testing on various levels of dirt racing, from traveling series to Saturday night shows at local tracks.

“They have been very well received,” he noted, “because the retail price is very economical and because of their durability. These blades are made of steel and won’t break like blades made from other materials do.”

Special event gift certificates will be mailed from the IMCA home office within a week after race results are received.

The Modified champion at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s receives a single pass racing radiator, the Stock Car, Hobby Stock and Northern SportMod champion each a Super Sucker 4-blade fan.

All four drivers will go home from Boone Speedway with those awards in the trailer.

“We sell single pass, double pass and triple pass radiators for all racing applications,” stated Fain, already adept in the intricacies of marketing and memorable branding. “We want to get the Super Sucker name out there. We want them to know that ‘We suck so you don’t have to.’”

Abilene Race Rads distributors include Day Motor Sports and Smiley’s Racing Products. Fain was also among the sponsors for the third annual Sniper Speed Lone Star Tour.

Information about all Abilene Race Rads high performance, street rod, commercial and highway vehicle products is available by calling 325 668-0267 or 800 588-2673, and at www.abileneracerads.com.

“Tommy has been around IMCA racing for a long time and he knows what racers need. This new program is a testament to not only his ingenuity, but that commitment to IMCA racing across the board,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “We are excited to have Abilene Race Rads as a sponsor in 2020.”
