DENISON, Iowa – Crawford County Speedway will crown its first IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car champion this season.
Eight dates for the winged class are scheduled on Fridays at Denison, beginning April 24 when the Sprint Series of Nebraska comes to town for opening night of the Spring Fling special.
The Sprints are also on May 8 and 22, June 5 and 19 and July 10, 17 and 31 programs.
“Iowa is the heart of Sprint Car racing. It’s an exciting division with a lot of fans,” Crawford County Race Director Ben Heyne said. “They put on nice, quick clean shows with an amazing amount of entertainment.”
IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts all return to weekly shows at Denison. The IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season runs through July 31, with Aug. 7 designated as a rainout date for season championship night.
“Our fans are really looking forward to seeing the RaceSaver Sprint Cars,” commented Heyne. “We’ve got a lot of positive things going on here and we’re really going to emphasize a family environment. We have six kids’ nights on the schedule now.”
Activities for young fans are in the works each of those nights, now planned May 1 and 22, June 5 and 26, and July 10 and 31.
