Four IMCA divisions featured at Cardinals’ inaugural Sam Hodges Memorial

EUNICE, N.M. – A former track owner, promoter and driver will be remembered Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14 at Cardinal Speedway’s inaugural Sam Hodges Memorial. 

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $2,755 to win, IMCA Modifieds for $1,755 to win their 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying feature and Smiley’s Racing Products Southern SportMods for $1,055 to win. Top prize in Saturday’s IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature is $955.

Stock Cars will run 50 laps with a mandatory pit stop on the front straightaway at halfway. The Modified feature is 40 laps and $500, $300 and $200 will be paid to the first, second and third-running drivers, respectively, when that race is halted for a pit stop, also on lap 25. 

Both the SportMod and Hobby Stock features will be 25 laps. A complete rundown on feature payouts, which are expected to increase, is posted on the track’s Facebook page.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark Plugs State points will be awarded.

Early entry fee in all divisions is $50 if mailed to the track by Sept. 9; entry fee after that date is $75.

Qualifying races will be held both Friday and Saturday. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. both days, the draw closes at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 8 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, gates open at 5:30 p.m. for registration and an open practice is from 7-10 p.m. A party in the pits follows the practice session.

RaceCeivers are required. Kids’ power wheel and bike races will be held during intermission on Saturday.

EUNICE, N.M. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars take top billing at Cardinal Speedway’s 10th annual Kelly Sheen Memorial Topless Shootout July 4-6. White takes home biggest share of green from Cardinal’s 10th annual Sheen Memorial

EUNICE, N.M. (July 6) – What a difference from a year ago.  Dustin White didn’t complete a lap at the 2018 Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout, pulling off with fuel issues before even seeing the green flag.  Now fast forward to Saturday night when he took home the biggest share of the green after win­ning Cardinal Speedway’s 10th annual event. Checks get bigger for Cardinal’s Sheen Memorial Shootout 

EUNICE, N.M. – IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars get top billing at Cardinal Speedway’s Kelly Sheen Memorial Shootout on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27. Winner’s share of the purse for the ninth annual event has been increased to $3,000. Taking the green in the Stock Car feature pays a minimum of $200. Qualifying is Saturday with 25-lap features on the Sunday program. Bigger paydays have been announced for the other sanctioned divisions as well.
