Sunoco inks three-year pact to renew support of IMCA Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks, Deery Series

VINTON, Iowa – Sunoco Race Fuels will continue its invaluable support of two IMCA divisions and one special series through 2021.

Based in Linwood, Pa., and manufacturer of the Official Fuel of IMCA, Sunoco returns as title sponsor of both the IMCA Stock Car and IMCA Hobby Stock divisions and gives cash awards to drivers maintaining perfect attendance in the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models.

“Sunoco and IMCA have had a long history together and we are excited to continue our partnership for another three years. What the series does for their racers is incredible and we are proud to be extend our partnership,” said National Sales manager Terry Thompson.

The 2019 season will be Sunoco’s 21st as title sponsor for the IMCA Stock Cars and 14th as title sponsor for the IMCA Hobby Stocks. In those roles, Sunoco provides a portion of point fund shares to be paid to top 15 drivers in national point standings in the respective divisions.

Those checks will be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office.

All drivers with perfect attendance throughout the 33rd annual Deery Brothers Summer Series will be entered in drawings for $250 in cash when they qualify for each main event.

Deery Series, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers must display two Sunoco decals on their race car and compete with Sunoco race gas to be eligible for point fund shares or cash awards.

Decals will be included in packets mailed to Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers after they purchase competitor’s licenses for 2019 and will be available in pre-race tech inspection at all Deery Series events.

Sunoco will again furnish the $2,000 purse to be paid for the Stock Car Race of Champions next Sept. 7 during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway.

2019 track and special series champions or point leaders in attendance, and former national champions, Super Nationals champions and race of champions winners will be eligible to qualify for the 19th annual race of champions.

“Sunoco is a major contributor to IMCA point funds in our race gas divisions, and that includes Late Models in 2019,” commented Kevin Yoder, marketing director for the sanctioning body. “With new Late Model sanctions and members on the horizon across the Midwest, an extended partnership with Sunoco aligns well with the upward trajectory of this division.”
