SEYMOUR, Wis. (Aug. 19) – J.J. Andersen went into the Sunday night IMCA Modified event at Outagamie Speedway seeking a weekend sweep but Brian Mullen had other ideas.
The winner Friday at Luxemburg Speedway and Saturday at 141 Speedway, Anderson jumped to the early lead and appeared to be well on his way to completing the 3-for-3 weekend. Mullen raced from row four into the runner-up spot on lap five.
With Andersen and Mullen both running the top groove, it looked as if that’s how they would finish but a caution on lap eight changed everything. With Mullen restarting down low, Andersen switched to the bottom of the track and allowed Mullen the preferred line up top.
Mullen took the lead, going unchallenged the remainder of the event for the win. Andersen ended in second. Tyler Wilson, Johnny Whitman and Benji LaCrosse completed the top five.
Brandon Czarapata checked out in winning the caution-free IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature while Jason Ebert was never challenged in racing to his second straight Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory.
Cody Booth scored his first Mach-1 Sport Compact win of the season.
By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 12) – One hundred and fifty-two cars packed the pit area for the first night of the 2020 racing season Friday at Outagamie Speedway powered by EWSC. Defending IMCA Modified track champion Johnny Whitman drew the pole for the night’s main event and looked strong early on as Benji LaCrosse gave chase. LaCrosse closed in several times but was never able to mount a serious challenge for the lead. Whitman led flag to flag earning the victory over LaCrosse. Lucas Lamberies was third, Jason Ebert took fourth and Andy Kleczka completed the top five. Kenny Richards jumped from the pole position to the lead in the opening lap of the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature as Jeremy Christians, Luke Lemmens and Eric Mahlik battled for second. Mahlik broke free of that battle midway through the contest but couldn’t find the grip to catch Richards. Christians had his race and car go up in a ball flames as the leaders took the white flag. Richards collected the win, the first for him in the division. Mahlik was second, Lemmens placed third, Benji LaCrosse was fourth and Eric Arneson rounded [Read More]
By Scott J. Owen SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 30, 2023) – Nick Buckarma and Matthew Radtke secured their first IMCA wins of the season Friday at Outagamie Speedway. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature was intense from start to finish, beginning with a four-wide battle for the lead. Darren Otto held the initial lead but his son Nathan took the lead on lap two. Josh Mroczkowski, Buckarma and Dan Sell Jr. soon joined the family feud for the lead. Darren Otto wrestled the lead back on lap four. Mroczkowski took his turn in the lead on lap five. It would be short-lived, however, as Darren Otto took the top spot back on the next circuit. Darren Otto, Buckarma and Mroczkowski went three-wide for the lead on lap 10 with Buckarma gaining the lead. Benji LaCrosse soon joined the leaders as well and moved to second on lap 14. Buckarma continued to lead but LaCrosse soon applied the pressure while running second. LaCrosse pulled to the inside of Buckarma as the duo raced side-by-side over the closing laps. Buckarma would hang on for the win [Read More]
By Edward Anschutz SEYMOUR, Wis. (June 16, 2023) – Jordan Bartz and Eric Arneson both raced their way to the winner’s circle Friday at Outagamie Speedway. Fresh off a heat race win, Chris Pigeon paced the opening laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature. Pigeon ran the cushion as Bartz went to work down low. Bartz made the pass for the top spot on lap four and never looked back, cruising to her first feature win of the season and a clean sweep on the night. Lucas Lamberies rallied late to place second, last week’s winner Cole Czarneski took third and Jason Ebert rounded out the top four. Ken Schrader moved up seven spots in the feature to place 12th. Week in and week out, the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars put on a show for the fans, this week was no exception. Aaron Karcz looked to have the field covered but several cautions kept his competitors close. Austin Jansen and Eric Arneson made it a 3-car battle for the lead, with Arneson coming out on top with [Read More]
