DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 17) – Sunday night racing action returned to the high-banked 3/8-mile dirt track on the Dubuque County Fairgrounds on Fan Appreciation Night.
The final feature of the night was the Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modified event. Austin Moyer shot to the front from his second row start, immediately took to the high side of the track and went on fight off the constant challenges from Matt Gansen to score the win in the 20-lapper.
Moyer took the checkers a couple of car lengths ahead of Gansen. Mark Schulte made a late-race charge to take third.
The Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature was in doubt right to the checkers as Jason Roth was able to overcome K.C. Ansel on the last corner of the 18-lap event and nip Ansel by a few feet for the win. Jerry Miles ran third.
Sunday, June 24will be Casey’s General Store Night at the races, The staff at the Dubuque Speedway has also announced that hot laps will be moved half hour later now that school is out, Hot laps will get underway at 6 p.m. with racing to follow.

Farley Speedway, located on the southwest corner of Farley, Iowa, is set to entertain a full program of weekly racing that includes IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods on Friday, April 27 with hot laps taking to the 3/8 mile dirt track at 7 p.m. On Sunday, April 29, the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway will open the 2018 campaign with sanctioned Modifieds and Northern SportMods on the card. Sunday’s start time has been moved up to 5 p.m. for the upcoming season. DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 4) – A rich weekend kicks off the Deery Brothers Summer Series’ history-making 33rd season. Opening night takes the IMCA Late Model tour to Davenport Speedway for the $5,000 to win Rebel 5K next Friday, April 12. Completing the tripleheader slate are $2,500 to win events Saturday, April 13 at Maquoketa Speedway and Sunday, April 14 at Dubuque Speedway. “You’d be hard-pressed to find another series in America that can boast about their 500th event in series history. VINTON, Iowa – The payday got even better for the winner of Sunday’s main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway. The third $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the June 7 Late Model winner at Dubuque. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2020 racing season. Previous winners were Jeff Aikey at Independence Motor Speedway on May 23 and Matt Ryan at 34 Raceway last Saturday night. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track. Grandstand seating is now open, and fans will also have the opportunity to watch the night’s racing action by logging on to IMCA.tvor affiliate DoneRight.tv.
