Garnhart, Soppe score at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 6) – Sunday’s Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modifieds feature at Dubuque Speedway was another nail biter as several drivers took their turns at the front.

Bryce Garnhart battled with Austin Moyer for much of the 20-lap main event before crossing under the checkers ahead of Moyer. Last week’s winner Jason Schueller turned in another fine run in taking third.

Defending IMCA national champion Tyler Soppe scored the feature win in the 18-lap GSI Collision Specialists Northern Sportmod main event.

Soppe fought to the front from a fourth row start to score the win ahead of early leader Justin Becker. Scott Busch followed up last week’s win with a third place finish.

Sunoco bonuses awarded at Independence, Dubuque this weekend

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 1, 2023) – Sunoco Race Fuels bonuses will be awarded when IMCA Late Models hit the track for big events this weekend at Independence Motor Speedway and at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The divisional title sponsor awards $250 bonuses to feature winners on Saturday, June 3 during the Hall of Fame Night show at Indee and Sunday, June 4 on Fan Appreciation Night at Dubuque. Drivers can get the bonus one time in a season; the $250 will be awarded to the top finishing non-winning driver any night the winner has previously received the bonus. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow Saturday at Independence, where pit passes are $30 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6-14 and free for five and under. Garnhart speeds to Smokey Rupp Memorial win

The defending track champion put the pedal down on the restart and cruised to the 25-lap Smokey Rupp Memorial Merfeld Brothers IMCA Modified win Sunday at Dubuque Speedway. The $1,000 victory put him on the ballot for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. “I know it was bad for him, but it made me happy,” Garnhart said in Hoker Trucking / C&W Trucking/Kam Koncepts Victory Circle. “Car ran great and I can’t thank everyone enough that works on this and supports us.” Hometown driver Austin Moyer helped lead the field to John Ryan’s green flag and quickly opened a large advantage. Maquoketa, Dubuque Deery events postponed

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 13) – Forecasts calling for less than pleasant temperatures Saturday and Sunday have resulted in postponements of Deery Brothers Summer Series events at Maquoketa Speedway and at Dubuque Speedway. Both IMCA Late Model tour events are to be rescheduled. The 33rd annual Deery Series now opens at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton with a $2,000 to win, minimum $300 to start main event next Saturday, April 20. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Loux Dominates Carolina Sprint Tour Return to Lancaster

(Apr. 4, 2026) — The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis made its long-awaited return to Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday night, bringing a good crop of RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars to “The Big Half Mile” for the series’ first appearance at the track since 2015. Following the redraw, 2025 Kevin Huntley Memorial champion Dillan Baldwin and defending series champion George Loux led the field to green for the 25-lap feature. Loux wasted no time asserting control, jumping to the early lead at the drop of the green flag. The race’s first incident came on lap four when Pennsylvania’s Trevor Gach made contact with the wall in turn four, sending his machine into a dramatic cartwheel before landing back on all four tires. Gach was uninjured, but his night came to an early end. On the restart, Loux maintained command while a fierce battle for second unfolded between Baldwin and Biscuit Williams.
