Clay County, Buena Vista Raceway host final IMCA Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour dates

SPENCER, Iowa – Their consistency has put Kelly Shryock and Joel Rust in the top two spots in point standings for the Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour.

Both will be looking to earn the series championship when the IMCA Modified tour concludes with events on Monday, Aug. 7 at Clay County Fair Speedway in Spencer and Wednesday, Aug. 9 at Buena Vista Raceway in Alta.

Shryock’s runner-up finish in the most recent tour feature at Dubuque put him back in first in the points race. The veteran from Fertile has finished outside the top five just once through the first seven tour events of the season while Rust owns four top-five showings.

Monday’s main event at Spencer pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $200 to start while the Alta race pays $1,000 to win and a minimum of $150 to start. Both features are qualifiers for the 2018 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. The Buena Vista Raceway feature winner pockets an additional $100 for each tour race they competed at this season, courtesy of IMCA.
