Two voting sessions planned to elect 28 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational starters

BOONE, Iowa – Twenty-eight of the 30 starters for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational will be elected in a pair of polling sessions this summer.

Three drivers from each of the five regions for IMCA Modifieds will be elected during polling from July 24-27; 13 more will be elected from an at-large pool of the next 25 top vote recipients between July 31 and Aug. 3.

All voting will be conducted through the IMCA Facebook page. One hundred and fifteen drivers are currently vote eligible for the 14th annual Invitational, to be held Sept. 8 during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway.

The final qualifying event will be the July 20 Arnold Motor Supply Hawkeye Dirt Tour show at Knoxville Raceway.

“We will notify All-Star drivers immediately after each round of voting and confirm they will be able to attend Super Nationals,” IMCA President Brett Root said. “What has necessitated shorter voting periods this year is the time needed to tailor awards, namely the Velocita firesuits, that All-Stars receive.”

Completing the starting grid for the 30-lapper will be All-Star candidates with the top national point total and the most 40-point feature wins as of Aug. 31 competing at Super Nationals.

All-Star drivers also receive mini-replica drive shafts from event title sponsor Fast Shafts by Axle Exchange.

The event pays $1,000 to win and $200 to start.
