Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center in fifth season of IMCA Southern SportMod title sponsorship

LUBBOCK, Texas – Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center marks a milestone in 2017, its fifth consecutive season as title sponsor of IMCA’s Southern SportMod division.

The Lubbock, Texas, GM parts retailer, Chevrolet engine dealer and certified engine rebuilder provides a portion of the $9,500 point fund to be paid to top 15 drivers in national standings for the division.

Southern SportMods see action this season at tracks in Colorado, Kansas, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center also returns to the national decal program for IMCA’s Southern and Northern SportMods. Drivers in both divisions must display two Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center decals on their race car to be eligible for point fund shares.

Point fund checks are to be presented during the national awards banquet in November or mailed beginning the following week from the IMCA home office.

Southern SportMods made their debut at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s last September. Jeffrey Abbey reigned at Super Nationals and in the national points race, while Kamera McDonald raced to national rookie of the year honors.

“Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center is the longest-running title sponsor the IMCA Southern SportMod division has ever known and we’re proud to be associated with such a fine organization,” commented IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “The folks at SDPC really believe in the IMCA model and their support means a great deal to the stability of racing in the southern part of the United States.”
